The Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks needed to fill a void at running back after losing Kenneth Walker III in free agency to the Kansas City Chiefs. On Thursday night at the 2026 NFL Draft, the Seahawks drafted Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price with the No. 32 pick.
Now that Price will join the Seahawks, how does the team’s running back room shape up entering next season?
Seahawks’ RB Room Gets Boost with Jadarian Price
Seattle will have Zach Charbonnet coming back next season, and, at this time, he’s slotted at the RB1 position on the team’s depth chart. In the 2025 regular season, Charbonnet had 184 carries for 730 yards and 12 touchdowns, averaging 4.0 yards per carry.
According to the PFSN NFL RB Impact Metric, which measures performances through the regular season, Charbonnet had an impact score of 52.6 and graded out to an F. Emanuel Wilson is currently at No. 2 on the Seattle running back depth chart. Wilson had 125 carries for 496 yards and 3 touchdowns last season with the Packers.
George Holani and Kenny McIntosh land in the Nos. 3 and 4 spots on the Seattle RB depth chart. However, Price is expected to be at least the RB2 in Seattle come Week 1, and the most likely scenario is that he will be their leading back due to Charbonnet’s injury.
Seattle’s selection of Price in the first round received a D- grade according to the PFSN NFL Draft HQ data. Price had a draft score of 82.8, according to PFSN NFL Draft data.
“Jadarian Price naturally gets overlooked at times in the shadow of Heisman finalist and likely first-round pick Jeremiyah Love, but make no mistake: Price is just as compelling as an NFL Draft prospect in his own range,” according to PFSN draft analysis.
“Price might be a bit smaller and leaner than Love, but his utility as a creator and an explosive vertical threat should translate on Sundays,” Price’s analysis per PFSN continued. “Price has a great blend of vision, spatial instincts, foot speed, smooth fluidity, and cutting range, and he goes 0-to-100 in a blink when he has a runway to attack.”
Walker signed a 3-year, $43.05 million contract in March with the Chiefs, becoming the highest-paid running back in NFL history. Last season with the Seahawks, Walker earned Super Bowl 60 MVP honors after having a stellar postseason.

He led the NFL in postseason rushes (65), rushing yards (313), and rushing touchdowns (4) in three games in January and February.
With Price coming on board, the Seahawks were looking for additional depth at the running back spot. They hope that Price will be a solid addition and help their run game as Walker goes to a new NFL team.
