A lot of people had high hopes for the Seattle Seahawks, but it was hard to imagine the amount of success they would end up having last season. The deserving Super Bowl champions were a dominant team from start to finish.
However, the offseason has brought a ton of change for them, both on the sidelines and in the roster. The biggest loss in the lineup was inarguably Kenneth Walker III, who won Super Bowl MVP in February. Now, one analyst believes he’s found the ideal replacement for Seattle.
How the Seahawks Can Replace Kenneth Walker III in the 2026 NFL Draft
The offseason hasn’t been ideal for Seattle. Perhaps the biggest blow came in the form of offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak moving to the Las Vegas Raiders as their new head coach. But the defense, which was their calling card all season long, also suffered some major blows.
As a result, a lot of people expect the Seahawks to pour a ton of resources to rebuild that unit. However, Peter Schrager of ESPN isn’t following that mold to a tee. Instead, in his latest mock draft, he has them targeting a running back in the first round.
While that, in and of itself, wouldn’t be mind-boggling, the name he has in mind is Jadarian Price out of Notre Dame. Even though Price played the backup role to the apple of the nation’s eye, Jeremiyah Love, Schrager seems to be extremely high on the youngster.
Schrager, calling him the second-best running back in the entire class, believes Price “would provide some nice pop to the Seattle offense after the departure of Kenneth Walker III via free agency. He had only 113 carries last season but turned them into 674 yards and 11 scores.”
At nearly 6 yards a carry, the impact from Price was noticeable even on a team with Love on the roster. However, his carries and raw numbers would have to make a major jump to replace the production that Walker was giving the Seahawks.
In his final year, he ranked at No. 16 on PFSN’s RB Impact Metric and tallied 1,027 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns. A key difference between the two, though, will be in the pass-catching game.

While Walker has added over 200 receiving yards in each of the last three seasons, Price did not cross 100 receiving yards in the last two seasons combined. That difference could play a factor in how things shake out for the Seahawks in the draft.
There is a plethora of directions that they can potentially take heading into the draft. But finding a quality running back should be relatively high on their priority list.
