Saquon Barkley boasts significant star power in the NFL. After all, he’s a past Pro Bowl performer at running back and known for his Visa commercials during the early years of his career.
But one look at his family tree reveals Barkley isn’t the only athlete in his family. In fact, the new Philadelphia Eagles running back comes from a big family of five Barkley kids, including him.
Here’s a closer look at his siblings.
Who Is Ali Barkley?
We’ll start with the one who appeared to be following in the older brother’s footsteps.
Ali Barkley comes with his own running back background — having starred for Whitehall High in Pennsylvania as a powerful 6’1″, 220-pounder. Ali Barkley also happens to have Philly ties, but he arrived in the city before his older brother joined the Eagles.
Ali Barkley walked on for Temple University in 2021, with the university known for representing the North Central part of Philadelphia. He joined the Owls in 2021 and ultimately thrived with the scout team — earning Scout Team Player of the Week ahead of the Akron contest of ’21.
After fighting for playing time in two seasons, Ali Barkley entered the transfer portal in 2023. He officially transferred to Akron on Oct. 26, 2023 but didn’t earn any snaps.
As of the 2024 season, Ali Barkley was not listed on the Zips roster. He stills lists “transfer portal RB” on his X (formerly known as Twitter) byline.
Who Is Shaquona Barkley?
Shaquona Barkley happens to be a celebrity in her own right. Except she dove into the podcast realm.
She’s known as the CEO of the What a Time To Be Black podcast. But she’s also her own boss elsewhere.
Shaquona Barkley is the owner of the Nova B Beauty Bar. Her services include helping provide luxury lashes.
Outside of the CEO landscape, Shaquona Barkley works as an event marketing coordinator for the music streaming service Tidal. But she’s not the only sister to the Eagles RB.
Who Is Aliyah Barkley?
The younger sister happens to be a college student at a Big 12 university.
She attends West Virginia University in Morgantown, where she became a student in 2020. While her targeted graduation year is 2025 according to her LinkedIn page, her major is not known.
Before going to WVU, Aliyah Barkley was a renowned athlete herself. She raced in multiple track and field events for Whitehall High, including the 100-meter, 200-meter, 4 x 100 relay, and the long jump.
Unlike her older sister, Aliyah Barkley doesn’t post much on her personal X page. However, she did retweet her brother’s final goodbye to New York Giants fans on March 11 after he signed with the Eagles.
Who Is Rashard Johnson?
Johnson is the older brother to the Eagles’ backfield addition ahead of the 2024 season.
He’s best known for helping convince the Pro Bowler to help raise awareness back in 2019 for a rare condition Rashard’s daughter Amirah has.
Barkley’s niece has a rare disorder called 22Q11 Deletion Syndrome, which stems from a person missing parts of their 22nd chromosome. Amirah’s condition sometimes sees her turn blue or lose brief usage of her left side, including her hand.
Amirah’s condition convinced Barkley to wear “22Q” on his cleats for the month of December, which is the month the NFL allows players to take part in “My Cause, My Cleats” to honor the charity or non-profit organization of their choice.
