Saints Star Cam Jordan Blames NFL Players for League’s Highly Controversial Team Report Card Decision

Cam Jordan weighs in on the league’s report card controversy and suggests players must also look in the mirror.

The NFL won a grievance suit against the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) on Friday, challenging the NFLPA’s creation and publicization of annual “Team Report Cards.” While several players have criticized the league, including Cam Jordan, the New Orleans Star believes the players are equally responsible for this situation.

Cam Jordan Points to Player Voting in NFL Dispute

Every season, NFL players submit feedback to the NFLPA regarding how their organizations treat them across multiple categories. Those include facilities, locker rooms, training staff, weight rooms, nutrition programs, team travel, and even head coaching.

The NFLPA compiles those responses into annual team report cards and releases them publicly, applying pressure on franchises to improve working conditions for players.

However, the NFL challenged the process, alleging that the NFLPA had selectively used player responses to shape a specific narrative. An arbitrator ultimately ruled in favor of the league, determining that the NFLPA’s public release of the report cards violated the CBA and ordering it to stop publishing future versions.

Several former and current players have criticized the outcome. Jordan, however, offered a more layered perspective.

“The NFL is upset that Teams have been graded, judged and coerced to update to facilities, training staffs, weight rooms. Necessities to keep the modern NFL athlete top tier,” he wrote on X.

But when teammate Alvin Kamara urged him to “tell errybody how we really feel,” Jordan shifted the focus toward player accountability.

“BRUH 1/3 the time I get upset at the nfl, I remind myself a majority of players accepted or didn’t vote during last cba. after we had a resounding no voted in the preliminary poll voting with the nflpa. Smh,” the 36-year-old added.

Jordan’s point was clear: players themselves approved or failed to oppose the collective bargaining agreement that now limits the NFLPA’s authority in situations like this.

While surveys may still be conducted internally, the ruling prevents the NFLPA from publicly releasing report cards in the same manner moving forward, raising concerns about transparency and accountability.

Kamara proposed a simpler workaround: “What if the players made one and tweeted it out at the end of every year lol,” he posted on X.

The team report cards were important because they not only helped current players get the best idea of where they can be valued, appreciated, and cared for, but also held NFL owners and administrators accountable for the working environment and resources available to their players.
