Every year, the National Football League Players’ Association (NFLPA) releases team report cards that rate teams on topics such as family treatment, ownership, dining, and more.
However, these publicly released report cards will no longer be allowed. Here’s how J.J. Watt and the NFL world took to the news.
J.J. Watt and More Call Out Banning of Team Report Cards
Every season, NFL players inform the NFLPA of the treatment they receive across many categories from their organization. In addition to the previously mentioned categories, there’s also nutritionist/dietician, locker room, training room, training staff, weight room, strength coaches, team travel, and head coach. The NFLPA then turns the information into a team report card and releases it publicly, motivating organizations to provide better services to their players.
However, these will no longer release the team report cards publicly. NFL Insider Adam Schefter posted the following:
“Sources: The NFL informed all 32 teams today in a memo that it prevailed in its grievance vs. the NFLPA and its ‘team report cards.’ An arbitrator determined that the NFLPA’s conduct violated the CBA and ordered it to stop making public any future report cards.”

The public team report cards made sure that owners and organizations were put on blast for their poor treatment. Now, what’s preventing them from making any change, rather than just sticking with the broken system they run?
