‘Sick of Roman Wilson,’ ‘Start Germie Bernard’ — NFL Fans Slam Steelers WR After Aaron Rodgers’ Stern Callout

Aaron Rodgers ripped Roman Wilson for poor execution on a route once again in training camp, with NFL fans now calling for Germie Bernard to start.

Aaron Rodgers is entering his last season in the NFL and clearly wants to make it a productive one. Mistakes aren’t tolerated by Rodgers, especially in his last ride.

In training camp today, Rodgers targeted WR Roman Wilson, but Asante Samuel Jr. intercepted the pass. Rodgers ripped Wilson for making another mistake in camp, and the NFL community was quick to take notice of his criticism.

NFL World Reacts to Aaron Rodgers Ripping Roman Wilson

Rodgers was far from thrilled with Wilson after he made a “repeat mistake” on a route in training camp. Wilson isn’t a rookie, either, and Rodgers expects him to clean up his mistakes before Week 1 rolls around.

“Yeah, Roman made a repeat mistake. That’s a good learning lesson because I don’t think he’s gonna do that again. He did the same thing earlier in training camp, and we said, hey, on that under route you gotta keep coming,” said Rodgers.

Wilson has to improve, and the Steelers may have a replacement ready and waiting. The NFL world is urging the Steelers to give rookie Germie Bernard a look over Wilson.

“I’m sick of Wilson. Give me Germie any day,” said one Steelers fan.

“Saw it in preseason. Still hearing about it in practice. Steelers gotta start Germie Bernard,” said another Steelers social media fan page.

Although Rodgers publicly expressed his frustration with the mistake, he still defended Wilson.

He spoke highly of Wilson’s performance throughout training camp and Wilson’s character. But the Steelers faithful didn’t seem to care much about the second part of Rodgers’ statement to the media and continued in their insistence on Bernard.

“Roman Wilson won’t get many chances with Bernard waiting on the sidelines,” said one fan.

“How long will we have to deal with this before Germie Bernard becomes the full-time starter?” said one fan.

Others weren’t so quick to suggest Bernard as an option, but rather to find a new replacement or simply not throw him the ball.

“Send Roman to Siberia and trade for someone. Enough of this,” said one fan.

While Wilson won’t be sent to Siberia, there’s a chance that Rodgers will lose trust in his ability to run routes precisely as Rodgers wants.

“He’s not going to do it again because Rodgers lit him up and won’t throw his way till November,” said one fan.

The Steelers are in limbo. Rodgers is only a short-term answer at quarterback, and there’s no clear path to a trusted franchise QB. They’ve taken fliers on Drew Allar and Will Howard, and Allar looks alright, but still unproven. The faith is in Rodgers to give the Steelers a playoff win that they’ve waited longer than they expected for.

Pittsburgh opens its season against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1, and the wide receiver storyline between Bernard and Wilson will be one to watch.
