Sean Strickland gets criticized after his controversial rant about Bad Bunny performing in the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Bad Bunny put on a historic performance during the Super Bowl Halftime Show this year, though not everyone agreed with the NFL’s selection. One of those opposed is apparently Sean Strickland, who recently went on a rant of insults aimed at the league and the performer. A former Pro Bowl quarterback fired back at the UFC fighter.

The former UFC champion is getting set to face Anthony “Fluffy” Hernandez in a main event fight this weekend, and in one of his press conferences leading up to it, he went on a brutal rant of insults to attack Bad Bunny, as well as the NFL for picking him to perform. This prompted Robert Griffin III to fire back at the polarizing middleweight.

“Sean Strickland got hit so hard by a foreigner that he forgot Puerto Ricans are US citizens. Not to mention that this misogynistic crybaby would get tossed like salad if he ever stepped foot on a football field in the NFL. Worry about not getting knocked out in your next fight,” exclaimed Griffin.

The former Pro Bowl quarterback included a video of Strickland being knocked out by Brazilian superstar Alex Pereira in his response. The former middleweight champion has also lost two of his past three fights overall, both to South African former champion Dricus du Plessis. He was directly responding to a video of Strickland’s press conference when he went on his tirade about Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl.

“How do we f**king ruin this sport? How do we gay it up? Why don’t we bring in a gay foreigner who doesn’t speak English? Get the f**k out of here. The NFL is pathetic,” ranted Strickland.

While the Halftime Show has surely sparked extreme opinions from all ends of the spectrum, many fans were simply focused on crowning a champion for the 2025 NFL season. In the end, it was the Seattle Seahawks who came out victorious over the New England Patriots. It capped off a magical season by Sam Darnold, who finished 13th in PFSN’s Impact Rankings among all quarterbacks, after he was cast off by the Minnesota Vikings last year.
