Pro Bowl QB Calls Out Titans for Tossing Mike Vrabel ‘Out Like a Piece of Garbage’ After Patriots Reach Super Bowl

Mike Vrabel is close to leading the New England Patriots to the Super Bowl title, while the Tennessee Titans continue to struggle.

In his first season with the New England Patriots, Mike Vrabel made history by leading the team to Super Bowl 60 after defeating the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship, intensifying Tennessee Titans fans’ frustrations with their franchise’s struggles.

Shortly after the AFC Championship ended, many Titans fans took to social media to point out that Vrabel did not have the opportunity to fully develop his work with the franchise. Now, in the wake of these reactions, the outrage has been amplified following Robert Griffin III’s statement.

Robert Griffin III Criticizes the Tennessee Titans for Dismissing Mike Vrabel

On his Twitter/X profile, the former Pro Bowl quarterback said that Vrabel was thrown away “like a piece of garbage” by the Tennessee franchise and that the Titans could have reached the Super Bowl if they had kept the former head coach in place.

As Vrabel now celebrates the opportunity to play in the Super Bowl with the franchise where he excelled as a player, the Titans, by contrast, have entered yet another major restructuring process. This transition comes under the new leadership of Mike Borgonzi and Robert Saleh.

The efficiency of Vrabel’s work in New England has recently exposed the fragility of the decisions made by Tennessee’s management in past years. To illustrate the widening gap between the two franchises, it is notable that the Patriots have recorded the same number of wins since the end of December as the Titans have in the entire period since firing Vrabel.

During his time in Tennessee, Vrabel recorded only two losing seasons (the last two), but that statistic did not make him the main culprit. Fans mainly point the finger at administrative decisions beyond Vrabel’s control, the main one being the controversial trade of star player A.J. Brown.

Titans’ Situation Since Vrabel’s Departure Is Terrible

After Vrabel’s departure, the Titans, who rank No. 30 in the PFSN Offense Impact metric with an F grade, brought in Callahan, who ultimately lasted less than two seasons as HC. Now, the fans find themselves watching their former coach being praised for his rapid success after a profound overhaul in New England, while they wait uncertainly for the new leadership under Saleh to restore the team’s prestige and competitiveness.

Taken together, Vrabel’s rapid rise in New England stands as a stinging indictment of the Tennessee Titans’ decision to part ways with him. The franchise now faces the painful reality of losing an elite coach, while Vrabel is poised to achieve what Titans fans once hoped he would in Nashville.
