What’s Happening With Bills RB Ray Davis?

When Davis had a carry in the fourth quarter, it looked like he suffered some type of leg injury.

ESPN Bills reporter Alaina Getzenberg posted on X, “Bills RB Ray Davis comes limping off the field. Immediately to the bench, athletic trainers looking at him.”

On the Bills’ drive where Davis was injured, Bills quarterback Josh Allen ran it into the end zone for Buffalo’s first points of the game. The point-after, though, was blocked, and it left the Eagles in front 13-6 with around five minutes left in the game. It’s not clear at this point if Davis will return to the game.

Davis only had one carry for four yards for the Bills on Sunday. The Eagles’ defense has done a good job of shutting down Allen and the Bills’ offense throughout the game. But Buffalo has the ball back at the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter.

According to the PFSN NFL RB Impact metrics, Davis does not have enough data to be included. Who does, though, have some solid metrics for the Bills this season? James Cook, who has an impact score of 91.0 and grades out to an A-.

Davis was a fourth-round draft pick out of Kentucky by the Bills in the 2024 NFL Draft. So far this season, Davis has 36 carries for 120 rushing yards and no touchdowns. The Bills need some more output from their running game as well as better play from Allen, who has been kept in check throughout the game.

The Eagles’ defense continues to keep the Bills’ run game in check, too. With less than two minutes left in the fourth quarter, Allen and Co. are facing a fourth-and-10. They need to convert in order to maintain their current momentum. Allen completed a pass that turned into an option down the field on that fourth-and-10 play.

Now, with the Bills getting near the end zone, they have to make this drive count or the game is pretty much over. Davis is still on the sidelines at this point, too.
