Ravens Star Lamar Jackson Adds Boxing to Offseason Training After Injury-Plagued Season

Lamar Jackson adds boxing to offseason training as Ravens QB looks to improve durability and stay healthy heading into the 2026 NFL season.

Entering the 2026 season, the Baltimore Ravens have undergone many roster changes, but most were necessary after yet another disappointing season. One aspect that has stayed true is that star Lamar Jackson will be the starting QB in 2026, but his durability is a concern.

Last season, Jackson missed 4 games and battled injuries throughout the year, and it seems the QB is implementing new ways to stay healthy.

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson Tries New Training Method to Stay Healthy

Since being drafted by the Ravens, Jackson has been one of the most dynamic QBs in the NFL thanks to his rushing ability, but he is also one of the best QBs overall.

Just two seasons ago, Jackson was second in MVP voting, and he already had two MVP-winning seasons before that. His value to the league and to the Ravens is indescribable, but his health has been an issue.

As I said, last season, Jackson missed four games and played through injuries, but this was nothing new for him. Jackson only has one season in which he played all the Ravens’ games.

The good news is that he hasn’t had a major injury that knocked him out for the whole year, but small injuries add up over time, and with Jackson’s generational talent coming from his running ability, that could really affect his career.

For everyone involved, Jackson’s health must turn around this season, and one way to do that is by changing offseason preparation. It seems Jackson has already started that process, adding boxing training into his offseason plans:

As the post above mentions, this will be Jackson’s 9th season in the NFL, and that may also explain why the QB added new training methods in the offseason.

Again, considering his playstyle, there is a much lower chance that Jackson can be at the same level when he is out of his prime. The injuries only make that outcome more likely, and could even shrink Jackson’s prime in the NFL.

Missing four games last year, Jackson was able to finish 12th overall in PFSN’s QB Impact Metric, and it was not enough to carry the Ravens to the playoffs. With so many changes happening this offseason, a fully healthy Jackson is even more of a necessity.
