Baltimore Ravens WR Rashod Bateman has played in 19 games and missed 15 during his two NFL seasons, but talent for the former first-round pick is not a question. Todd Monken was hired to open this offense up, leading to plenty of attention from the fantasy football community. Bateman carries risk, but without an alpha receiver on the Ravens’ roster, there is certainly reward potential for managers willing to take the risk.

Rashod Bateman’s Fantasy Outlook
Lamar Jackson is my preseason MVP pick, and that is me buying into the growth of the Raven’s passing game under Monken. I favor Zay Flowers to lead Baltimore receivers in looks, but between him, Odell Beckham Jr., and Bateman, it’s an open competition in an offense with strong projectable output.

He’s now showing comfortability with his left foot (Lisfranc side) behind him pushing off for burst off the line.

Something Bateman has that those other two receivers don’t is actual reps with Jackson. How much value that holds remains to be seen, but it could fuel the narrative of a fast start. And should Bateman hit the ground running, there’s a chance he won’t relinquish that role.
Is Bateman a Good Fantasy Pick?
Am I actively targeting Bateman? No, but do I prefer him to a lower-upside Allen Lazard or a player set to miss a month and a half in Jameson Williams? Yes, and that’s roughly where Bateman is being drafted.
In this ADP range, you can chase a role and sacrifice the offense (Nico Collins, for example) or sacrifice role for a piece of an elite offense (see Tyler Boyd).

Bateman gives you the potential to access both a reasonable role on a strong offense — hope that is worthy of a pick outside of the first 10 rounds.
