The Las Vegas Raiders are experiencing the full Kansas City Chiefs experience. Patrick Mahomes is feeling himself, the receivers are making plays, and the defense is balling. The Chiefs have been waiting to kick into gear, and Rashee Rice’s return from suspension has certainly helped. Rice has been dominant in his first action of the season and seems to have not skipped a beat with Mahomes.
Rashee Rice’s Electric Season Debut
Rice has made an instant impact in his return to the gridiron. He suffered an LCL injury in 2024, which cost him his season, and he was suspended for the first six games of 2025. Now, he’s back to terrorizing NFL defenses.
In the first half, Rice was targeted eight times and caught six of those. He only had 36 receiving yards, but scored two touchdowns. He dominated the Raiders’ secondary and gave them plenty of trouble keeping him in check.

The Chiefs were up 21-0 at halftime and smelled blood, looking to destroy one of their divisional foes and make a statement to the rest of the NFL that they’ve figured it out. They were glad to have Rice back and used him excessively in his season debut. Rice’s two touchdowns bookended the Chiefs’ first-half offense.
On the Chiefs’ opening drive, they executed a nine-play, 92-yard touchdown drive, which was capped off by Rice for a two-yard score. Mahomes took the snap in shotgun and shoveled it to Rice, who was in motion, and he waltzed into the end zone.

The Chiefs had an injury scare on this touchdown, though, as Kareem Hunt had to be carried off the field with a leg injury. Kansas City could breathe as Hunt was examined and was able to return to the game later in the first half.
Rice’s second touchdown was a textbook throw and catch, where Mahomes and Rice were on the same page. As soon as Rice broke out of his route, the ball flew right to his hands, and he secured it for his second score in the game. The four-yard touchdown came at the closing stages of the first half. They get the ball coming out of half and are looking to stack touchdowns on back-to-back possessions.

The Chiefs were rolling and kept feeding Rice. He’s back and was on a mission in Week 7. He did slow down in the second half as he only caught one pass for six yards. It wasn’t his fault, though, as the Chiefs scored quickly and took their offensive stars out of the game.
Mahomes didn’t make it to the end of the third quarter as head coach Andy Reid benched him to keep him healthy. It was 31-0, and there was no need to risk any injuries for Mahomes.
Many starters were benched for the entire fourth quarter and even earlier. Rice finished the game with seven receptions for 42 yards and two touchdowns. He was a weapon and will be a force against opposing defenses for weeks to come. The Chiefs are rolling, and teams should start to worry that Kansas City is back.
