The Los Angeles Rams were one of the best teams last season, and instead of the Super Bowl being a hope, it was an expectation. However, the team fell short, and with the clock ticking on quarterback Matthew Stafford’s career, the Rams cannot waste time.
Now is the time for the Rams to make win-now moves to get the team to the Super Bowl, and two wide receivers could be the perfect options.
Dan Orlovsky Believes the Rams Should Make Significant Moves at WR
When looking at last season’s roster and the current one heading into 2026, WR is not really the Rams’ top need. Davante Adams made massive plays last season, and Puka Nacua was one of the best wideouts in the NFL. ‘
According to PFSN’s WR Impact Metric, Adams was first in the NFL in touchdown receptions (14), and Nacua was ranked first overall with an elite 98.2 impact score.
That does not sound like a group that needs upgrading, but according to former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky, the Rams should look to add top-end talent to that room, specifically trading for Philadelphia Eagles star A.J. Brown or signing former New England Patriots pass catcher Stefon Diggs.
When speaking on “The Pat McAfee Show,” this is what Orlovsky said about Stafford’s limited time in Los Angeles and how Brown and Diggs would be ideal additions:
“It’s genuine that he (Stafford) realizes how lucky he’s been in many ways to get to go to LA and finish his career in LA with Sean McVay, and I’m sure the Rams organization and Sean feel the same way,” Orlovsky said.
“I think he just wants to leave his very best footprint on the organization and the league,” he continued. “Would I love to see them trade for A.J. Brown or sign Stefon Diggs? Absolutely… I think it’s a no-brainer.”
As mentioned, the Rams’ WR room is already in a good spot, but adding more talent is nowhere near a bad idea. Adams is turning 34 this season, and although Nacua’s off-field issues seem to be improving, they should still be a concern for the organization.

Trading for Brown would be an expensive move, as the star WR has the full three years left on his $96M extension, but the Rams would be creating the best group of pass catchers in the league. Just two seasons ago, when the Eagles’ offense was better, Brown finished third in PFSN’s WR Impact Metric.
Diggs would be the cheaper move, but he has had his own off-the-field issues recently. If the Rams are not worried about that, then bringing in the 4-time Pro Bowler would be a great move.
