Rams Considered Trading Davante Adams For A.J. Brown

On Saturday, March 13, amid the Brown trade speculation, Senior NFL insider Dianna Russini announced that Los Angeles “continues to monitor the status of the three-time Pro Bowler with interest. We’ll see where both parties go from here.”

The deal would allow the Rams to form arguably the most talented pass-catching trio of all time, featuring Brown, Adams, and PFSN’s top-ranked WR, Puka Nacua with 98.2 WR Impact Score.

Several days passed, and nothing came of the initial report. However, Florio provided an unexpected update. The headline read, “As the Rams considered trading for Eagles WR A.J. Brown, the Rams explored trading WR Davante Adams.”

In the story, he wrote: “Per a league source, the Rams — while talking about a possible trade for Brown — were pursuing the possibility of trading Adams.”

“The Rams presumably were hoping to get a deal done by today, when a fully-guaranteed $6 million roster bonus came due. And the payment of the bonus likely means they’ll keep Adams and his $18 million base salary,” Florio continued.

The insider closed by adding: “Regardless, a week with a handful of interesting developments could have had two more: A.J. Brown traded to the Rams, and Davante Adams (the league leader in receiving touchdowns in 2025) traded to what would have been his fifth NFL team.”

As Florio noted, the Rams’ target deadline for an Adams trade has passed, meaning they will likely keep the veteran receiver around for 2026. And, while he may not match Brown’s age and level of talent in his current form, Adams is still a stellar receiving option.

Across 14 games in 2025, his first season with the Los Angeles Rams, the franchise could not have asked for much more from Adams. The 33-year-old recorded 60 receptions for 789 receiving yards and a league-high 14 touchdowns.

Heading into his 13th NFL season, Adams, a six-time Pro Bowler, continues to provide the reliable veteran presence few pass catchers can replicate. In 2026, expect the Rams to contend for a Super Bowl behind Matthew Stafford, Adams, Nacua, and head coach Sean McVay.
Lastly, regarding Brown and the Eagles, the situation will certainly be worth monitoring as the offseason rolls on.
