The Los Angeles Rams kicked off the NFL offseason with a splash, trading for All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie. However, they may not be finished making moves, as Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown has emerged in trade rumors as a potential final piece to an already star-studded Rams roster.
Rams Remain Interested in Trading for Eagles Star WR A.J. Brown
On Friday, March 13, Senior Insider Dianna Russini reported that “A.J. Brown trade discussions are not dead.”
Russini added, “Last week, I was told the Rams discussed trading for Eagles WR A.J. Brown before dealing for CB Trent McDuffie. Dialogue slowed, but Los Angeles continues to monitor the status of the three-time Pro Bowler with interest. We’ll see where both parties go from here.”
Initially, the New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, and Buffalo Bills were the only teams linked to Brown. However, Russini’s report shows the 2022 Super Bowl champs are interested as well.
Notably, the Rams made the first big move of the offseason, acquiring McDuffie from Kansas City. Following the trade, the Rams extended the star cornerback to a four-year, $124 million deal.
The capital spent on McDuffie signaled that the team was finished making significant moves, but, as previously mentioned, that may not be the case. Over four seasons in Philadelphia (2022–2025), Brown earned WR Impact Scores of 89.2, 88.6, 91.4, and 80.9, ranking 4th, 9th, 3rd, and 21st among receivers, per PFSN metrics.
Last year, despite issues with QB Jalen Hurts and coach Nick Sirianni, Brown managed 78 catches, 1,003 yards, and 7 touchdowns.
Brown, if traded to the Rams, would join a dominant offense. This past season, QB Matthew Stafford won the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award and ranked 6th among all passers, according to PFSN.
Receivers Puka Nacua and Davante Adams were equally impressive. Nacua led the league in receptions, second in receiving yards, and ranked 1st among all WR, according to PFSN. Meanwhile, Adams led the league in receiving touchdowns with 14, posting 3 scores more than the next highest pass catcher (Dallas Goedert, 11).
The offense as a whole also posted an Impact Score of 92.3, topping all units. While wide receiver is not necessarily a need for the Rams, Brown, a three-time Pro Bowler, could help the team form one of the best WR trios in NFL history and reach unprecedented heights.
The Rams enter next season aiming for another Super Bowl run. With a top coaching staff, Stafford, Nacua, McDuffie, and possibly Brown, the Rams are expected to make major headlines in 2026.
