By the time Geno Smith walked off the field in Las Vegas, the frustration around his miserable 2025 NFL season in his first year with the Las Vegas Raiders had already boiled over. Instead of heading to the locker room quietly, the quarterback flipped off fans in his home stadium. That moment has many of them calling for him to be immediately terminated.
Why Are Las Vegas Raiders Fans Pushing to Move on From Geno Smith?
The Raiders acquired Smith during the 2025 NFL offseason, hoping he would solve their quarterback issues, but it has not worked out that way. He has been a massive disappointment, throwing as many interceptions as touchdowns and holding just a 2-9 record in 2025.
Their most recent loss came in their home stadium against the struggling Cleveland Browns. As he exited the field after the game, he was met with plenty of boos, and he responded by flipping off the crowd. This has many fans urging the Raiders to take immediate disciplinary action against the sinking quarterback.

“I’d suspend both Geno and the coach for letting him get away with it,” said another.
“Spytek needs to grow a set and suspend Geno Smith. After that, he needs to file to void the remainder of his contract for conduct detrimental to the team. He’s a PR nightmare and a scumbag,” stated another.
“Call Carr. Geno is cooked,” exclaimed another.
“I’d release Geno today or suspend him the rest of the season for conduct detrimental to the team,” posted another.
“Suspend Geno for his disrespect to the fan base that supports him,” responded another.
“He has no place being associated with our organization ever again,” replied another.
“Geno Smith is an imposter, not a Raider. Send him on his way,” suggested another.
“Say what you want about Derek Carr, he’d never stoop to this level. He owned every loss and didn’t pass blame on others. Geno is soft as Charmin,” explained another.
Smith currently ranks 29th in PFSN’s Impact Rankings among all quarterbacks this season. His disastrous performance is enough for fans to call for him to be replaced as their starter, but him flipping off the Raiders’ home crowd elevated things to another level.
This has led many of them to demand that he be benched or even released, suggesting that the team file a violation with the league to void his contract, potentially. Some of them even mentioned polarizing former quarterback Derek Carr, who recently retired and was not exactly a fan-favorite in Las Vegas, as a better option than what they have right now.
