The Las Vegas Raiders continue to navigate one of the NFL’s most closely watched coaching searches as they work to stabilize their long-term direction. The organization has spent the postseason evaluating candidates while preparing for a leadership reset that will shape the franchise’s next chapter.
What Happened Inside the Klint Kubiak–Tom Brady Meeting That Shifted the Raiders’ Coaching Search?
As the process has progressed, league reports indicate the Raiders are zeroing in on Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak as their preferred choice. Any hire cannot become official until after Super Bowl 60, but momentum around Kubiak has grown steadily in recent days. The search follows the team’s decision to move on from Pete Carroll after one season, marking another leadership shift as Las Vegas seeks a long-term answer.
A major factor in Kubiak’s rise appears tied to his early connection with minority owner Tom Brady. Brady and general manager John Spytek are spearheading the search, and ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Kubiak made a strong impression during his initial interview.
“One thing I was told about Klint Kubiak and Las Vegas is that he and minority owner Tom Brady very much hit it off in the initial interview. “Both are all ball,” a source said. He was able to create momentum with his initial interview and that carried into this week,” Fowler posted on social media.

Kubiak’s coaching path has been shaped by a steady climb through several offensive systems across the league. Before joining Seattle in 2025, he served as the New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator in 2024, where he worked to stabilize a unit in transition.
Prior to that, he spent the 2023 season as the San Francisco 49ers passing game coordinator, contributing to one of the league’s most efficient aerial attacks under head coach Kyle Shanahan.

His earlier stops include roles with the Minnesota Vikings and Denver Broncos, where he built a reputation for quarterback development and detailed game planning. Kubiak is the son of longtime NFL coach Gary Kubiak, a Super Bowl winning head coach whose influence has shaped many of the league’s modern offensive minds.
Seattle’s offense posted a PFSN Offense Impact score of 79.8 this season, ranking ninth in the league. The Raiders, meanwhile, finished with a score of 56.3, placing 31st. The contrast highlights why Las Vegas is prioritizing a coach capable of elevating the unit quickly.
The Raiders are expected to continue internal discussions as they wait for the league’s hiring window to open following the Super Bowl. If current indications hold, Kubiak will enter that period as the leading contender to become the franchise’s next head coach.
