The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been decimated by injuries this season, particularly on offense. For example, starting running back Bucky Irving has only played in seven games so far.
As a result, Rachaad White has gotten more playing time at the running back spot. White has performed admirably, but his recent social media activity suggests he may be looking to play elsewhere in 2026.
Rachaad White’s Cryptic Jayden Daniels Posts Fuel Commanders Reunion Buzz
In 2025, White has played in all 14 games for the Bucs. The running back leads the team with 494 rushing yards and also has four rushing scores. White has also been useful in the passing game, with 34 catches for 178 yards.
PFSN’s RB Impact ranking gives White a solid 77.8 grade for his 2025 performance, 19th out of 56 qualified running backs.
However, White is clearly behind Irving in the pecking order and is set to be a free agent after this season. Based on his social media activity, it appears that White wants to end up with the Washington Commanders.
In the last two days, White has posted two Instagram stories of himself and Jayden Daniels. Tuesday’s post featured a highlight from the duo’s college days together at Arizona State.

It seems strange to make posts like this in the middle of a playoff push. White knows that Irving is the starter and Sean Tucker has cut into his playing time, too, so it seems like the writing is on the wall.
The Commanders have rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt, who’s impressed in his debut season, so there’s no guarantee the Commanders would be interested in White. However, his chemistry with Daniels could convince the team to bring him in.
Meanwhile, White’s Buccaneers are in a slump after starting the season looking like one of the best teams. The Bucs got off to a 6-2 start but have gone just 1-5 since then. The team now has the same record as the second-place Carolina Panthers. However, the Bucs and Panthers play twice over the last three weeks of the regular season, so both teams control their own destiny.
The Buccaneers have won the NFC South for four consecutive seasons. The last time the team did not win the division was back in 2020 when the New Orleans Saints won the crown. In between the two games against the Panthers, the Bucs will take on the Miami Dolphins in Week 17.
