Cleveland Browns running back Quinshon Judkins tried his best to keep the Browns in their game against the New England Patriots on Sunday at Gillette Stadium.
Judkins saw some action throughout the first half and into the third quarter, but the Browns were behind 30-7 in the fourth quarter.
What Happened to Browns RB Quinshon Judkins?
While Judkins was on the field, he appeared to have suffered a shoulder injury and was taken out of the game.
Judkins had nine carries for 19 yards and no touchdowns against the Patriots. The Browns need to have him back on the field to have any hope of coming back against New England. But he’s been ruled out for the rest of Sunday’s game.

For the Browns, they are looking to improve on their 2-5 record in the 2025 NFL season. Judkins plays an important role in the offense behind quarterback Dillon Gabriel.
Is Quinshon Judkins the Offensive Rookie of the Year?

In the PFSN NFL RB Impact metrics, Judkins has a 77.9 Impact Score and grades out with a C+. Entering Sunday’s game, Judkins had 109 carries for 467 yards and five touchdowns.
Judkins was a second-round draft pick out of Ohio State in the 2025 NFL Draft by Cleveland. The Browns have needed some help at the running back position for a long time. Cleveland is also trying to get its offense in gear, with Gabriel as the starting QB.
Joe Flacco started the season for the Browns at quarterback, but he was benched in favor of Gabriel. Ultimately, the Browns traded Flacco away to the Cincinnati Bengals.
In last week’s 31-6 win over the Miami Dolphins in London, Judkins had 25 carries for 84 yards and scored three touchdowns. He had a 46-yard run against the Dolphins’ defense and made his presence felt on the field.
Judkins is in a trial-by-fire situation this season with the Browns. Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski hopes that he can get some offensive support from the highly touted rookie this season. Should Gabriel be able to move the sticks on offense, he’s going to need Judkins as a reliable outlet for the Browns’ run game.
With Judkins out, the Browns will have to look for other options in the run game.
