In the first quarter of Monday night’s game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions, the NFL referees were hearing it from NFL fans over a missed pass interference call that involved Lions wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa.
The missed call brought out a lot of heat from NFL fans online.
What Were Fans Saying About Missed PI Call In Bucs-Lions?
One fan wanted a call against Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans on a play, but was upset at the call against the Lions.
The fan wrote on X, “LOL refs miss the Tampa PI on the 4th and 2 and don’t call the Evans push off there in fact call it on the Lions, gross”.

Another fan was more blunt in his post and shared it on X: “The @NFL f**king us again on that no PI call…” This fan was watching at home on TV and thought a call should have been made. This fan went out and posted, “Pretty f**king obvious PI in the endzone on Teslaa…”
One fan pretty much called the NFL referees a joke in his post while watching the Bucs-Lions game. The fan wrote on X, “Missing the most obvious PI on 4th down and then call 2 penalties on that team two plays later … this league is so unserious”.

“Lol, clear PI,” said another fan. “The league doesn’t want the Lions anywhere near the playoffs this year.”
In the PFSN NFL Offense Impact metrics, the Buccaneers entered Monday night’s game with an 82.2 Offense Impact Score, being the 10th best unit in the league and was given a B- grade. As for the Lions coming into their game with Tampa Bay, they had an 89.0 Offense Impact Score, ranking fifth in the league, and graded out to a B+.
Mayfield and the Buccaneers are looking to keep up their good play in front of a national television audience on both ABC and ESPN, while Jared Goff and the Lions want to secure a home victory at Ford Field.
After a play involving Goff near the Lions end zone, Detroit fans were yelling, “Refs you suck!” loudly enough to be heard on the telecast. In the game, TeSlaa has no receptions in the second quarter.
Tampa Bay saw star wide receiver Mike Evans leave the field in the second quarter with an injury. Evans was ruled out for the rest of the game with a concussion and shoulder injury. He was carted off the field back to the Buccaneers locker room.
In the second quarter on Monday night, the Lions led the Buccaneers 14-0. NFL fans will be watching to see if the referees get their act together.
