Week 9 of the 2025 NFL season saw the Indianapolis Colts’ hot streak come to a halt, the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs square off in another instant classic, and the Chicago Bears sneak away with a win in a crazy showdown against the Cincinnati Bengals.
These games, among others, led to movement in our PFSN power rankings this week compared to last. On Tuesday, the NFL trade deadline led to a flurry of unexpected moves that further shook up the league. Here’s how the NFL is shaping up entering Week 10.
32) Tennessee Titans
- Last Week’s Ranking: 32
- Playoff Odds: 0.00%
An interception returned for a touchdown by Cody Barton and a punt return for a touchdown by Chimere Dike kept the Tennessee Titans competitive in their matchup against the Chargers in Week 9. Their offense couldn’t pick up the slack, though, and that cost them the matchup on Sunday.
The Titans come out of Week 9 with a 1-8 record in the 2025 NFL season so far. Their offense has been abysmal, and the defense isn’t at a level that can make up for those struggles quite yet. Another year with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft might be in the cards for Tennessee.
31) New Orleans Saints

- Playoff Odds: 0.40%
The New Orleans Saints kicked off the Tyler Shough era on Sunday, having benched Spencer Rattler in favor of the Louisville rookie for Week 9. It provided more of the same for them, however, as they fell 34-10 to the Rams in a game in which they were overwhelmed in all phases.
Head coach Kellen Moore had to have known the Saints job would not be an easy one to win right away. They’ve kept things close in a handful of games despite an inferior roster, but that wasn’t the case in their matchup against Los Angeles this week. Now, after trading Rashid Shaheed to the Seattle Seahawks and Trevor Penning to the Los Angeles Chargers, it’s clear they are looking ahead to the future.
30) New York Jets

- Playoff Odds: 0.30%
Having picked up their first win of the season in Week 8, the New York Jets had their bye week in Week 9. Things will be a lot different for them coming out of the bye, having dealt Sauce Gardner to Indianapolis and Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys. The rebuild is in full effect, and they got plenty of draft capital out of it.
29) Cincinnati Bengals
- Last Week’s Ranking: 30
- Playoff Odds: 7.80%
Joe Flacco put together one of the best performances of his career on Sunday, throwing for 470 yards and four touchdowns in the Cincinnati Bengals’ matchup against the Bears. As good as their offense was, their defense was much worse, resulting in a home loss for Cincinnati.

The Bengals climb a spot in these power rankings for putting up an impressive 42 points, and there’s no denying how strong their offense has looked after trading for Joe Flacco. But their defense has been laughably bad, and that’s the biggest reason they’re just 3-6 this season.
28) Las Vegas Raiders
- Last Week’s Ranking: 31
- Playoff Odds: 1.90%
The Las Vegas Raiders climb a few spots in defeat after keeping things close with the Jaguars, getting into overtime and scoring a touchdown near the end of the game. However, they failed the two-point conversion they took to try and pick up the win, and they saw them fall to 2-6 for the year.
Between this game and their one-point loss to the Bears earlier in the season, the Raiders are just four points away from a .500 record at this stage of the year. Instead, they find themselves on the outside looking in on a postseason appearance. Now, after trading Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for two draft picks, things will likely be tougher for the offense moving forward.
27) Miami Dolphins

It’s not a good week when the loss you have on Thursday night results in your general manager getting fired soon after. That’s what happened to the Miami Dolphins in Week 9, as they went back to their losing ways in a blowout against the Ravens after picking up a victory in Week 8.
The 2025 NFL season is practically a lost cause for the Dolphins at this point. It seems as though the front office, sans fired GM Chris Grier, agrees. Miami traded edge rusher Jaelan Phillips to the Eagles, showing that a full-fledged rebuild is likely on the way.
26) Cleveland Browns
- Last Week’s Ranking: 25
- Playoff Odds: 3.40%
The Cleveland Browns had their bye week in Week 9, so their record goes unchanged after this week. It’s generally been a season to forget this year.
25) New York Giants
- Last Week’s Ranking: 24
- Playoff Odds: 0.70%
Scoring 24 points against one of the better teams in the NFL isn’t a bad performance necessarily, so the New York Giants could’ve done a lot worse than how they fared against the 49ers on Sunday.
With a 2-7 record at this point in the 2025 NFL season, it’s unlikely the Giants make it to the postseason. This year is more about encouraging young talent to build toward something bigger in 2026.
24) Atlanta Falcons
- Last Week’s Ranking: 21
- Playoff Odds: 10.90%
Despite a late-game push to topple the red-hot Patriots, the Atlanta Falcons didn’t have enough firepower to pick up the victory on Sunday. This came despite Drake London’s stellar three-touchdown receiving game. They fell to 3-5 for the year in the loss.
Having lost three games in a row, the Falcons face a similar collapse to what they experienced with Kirk Cousins at quarterback in 2024. They’re going to have to turn things around in a hurry if they are to make their way back into serious postseason contention.
23) Dallas Cowboys
- Last Week’s Ranking: 20
- Playoff Odds: 10.50%
The Dallas Cowboys’ offense wasn’t particularly stellar in their loss against the Cardinals on Monday night. That said, the crux of the issue lies with their defense, who gave up 27 points to a hobbled Arizona offense. That’s considered a good day by their standards, as they’ve given up 30.8 points per game this season.
The Cowboys sit at 3-5-1, and the hope is that their trade deadline activity will help their defense improve. Quinnen Williams and Logan Wilson should be big upgrades at defensive tackle and linebacker, respectively. But their loss on Sunday set them back significantly in a crowded NFC playoff race, so they have a lot of catching up to do.
22) Houston Texans

- Playoff Odds: 14.20%
Though the Houston Texans came close to being competitive against a talented Broncos team, they gave up 11 points in the fourth quarter, allowing the Broncos to blow the lead. The result saw them fall to 3-5 for the 2025 NFL regular season.
Houston has played a difficult schedule so far this year, and they’re the third-highest team on these power rankings with a record below .500. But they’re going to have to be a lot more consistent if they want to climb back up the ranks.
21) Washington Commanders
- Last Week’s Ranking: 14
- Playoff Odds: 12.50%
Week 9 was about as brutal as possible for the Washington Commanders. Not only were they demolished 38-14 at home by the Seahawks on Sunday Night Football, but star quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a gruesome arm injury that leaves his future for the 2025 NFL regular season in doubt.
Marcus Mariota has proven to be a capable backup, so Washington still has that to lean back on. But they now sit at 3-6, and their remaining schedule features the likes of the Lions, Broncos, and the Eagles in two divisional games. Making it back to the playoffs, much less the NFC Championship like last year, seems like a long shot.
20) Carolina Panthers

- Playoff Odds: 36.50%
The Carolina Panthers extended their push for a playoff spot on Sunday, upsetting the Packers in Green Bay off a last-second field goal. Now at 5-4, they’re firmly in the races for a Wild Card spot or an NFC South lead.

It’s been a bizarre season for the Panthers thus far, as some of their losses have come in absolute blowouts against the likes of the Patriots and Bills. But a win on the road against the Packers isn’t easy to accomplish, and Carolina has stacked up enough wins to stay competitive.
19) Arizona Cardinals
- Last Week’s Ranking: 23
- Playoff Odds: 4.00%
No Kyler Murray? No James Conner or Trey Benson? No problem for the Arizona Cardinals. They broke their five-game losing streak with a crucial win over the Cowboys on Monday night, bumping them up to 3-5 and keeping their hopes for the postseason alive.
Most notably, Jacoby Brissett diced up the Cowboys’ defense to the tune of 261 passing yards and three total touchdowns. It’s a Dallas unit that’s struggled to stop practically everybody through the air this year, but with Brissett’s strong play, the Cardinals will continue to start him and not rush Murray back onto the field.
18) Chicago Bears
- Last Week’s Ranking: 22
- Playoff Odds: 37.20%
It was one of the craziest games in recent memory, and the Chicago Bears came out on top. Their 47-42 victory over the Bengals brought their record to 5-3 for the year, and despite blowing a 41-27 lead, they came back with a touchdown drive of their own to get the lead back.
The Bears haven’t faced a tough schedule yet, but they’ve shown plenty of resilience this year. Their 5-3 record sets them up well to compete for a playoff spot as they prepare for a difficult NFC North divisional schedule.
17) Baltimore Ravens
- Last Week’s Ranking: 19
- Playoff Odds: 24.30%
Lamar Jackson returned from injury on Thursday night, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. After beating the Bears in Week 8, the Baltimore Ravens picked up their second win in a row with a convincing victory over the Dolphins to improve to 3-5.
Still sitting below the .500 mark, the Ravens have a lot of work to do if they want to make it back to the postseason and dig out of their early-season hole. But winning two games in a row and getting several key contributors back from injury could help them get back there. Those returns should help, along with their trade for Titans edge rusher Dre’Mont Jones.
16) Jacksonville Jaguars
- Last Week’s Ranking: 18
- Playoff Odds: 47.10%
It came all the way down to a two-point conversion, but the Jacksonville Jaguars stepped up to deflect Geno Smith’s pass in overtime to defeat the Raiders in a 30-29 shootout. The win brought their record to 5-3 for the 2025 NFL season.
Going against a team with only two wins, one would’ve hoped for a more resounding win than what the Jaguars ended up having in Las Vegas this week. Still, a win is a win, and a 5-3 record positions them well for a Wild Card spot in a competitive AFC. They boosted their offense at the trade deadline by acquiring wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, too.
15) Minnesota Vikings

- Playoff Odds: 38.70%
J.J. McCarthy made his return to the field on Sunday, and the result was an upset victory for the Minnesota Vikings over the Lions. The second-year quarterback scored three touchdowns in the 27-24 win that brought their record up to 4-4 for the 2025 NFL season.

The Vikings appear a few spots above a couple of teams with records above .500 due to the strength of their schedule. With McCarthy back at quarterback, it will be interesting to see how they’ll do the rest of the year in a loaded NFC North.
14) Pittsburgh Steelers
- Last Week’s Ranking: 15
- Playoff Odds: 76.50%
It’s always a good win when you beat the hottest team in the NFL. The Pittsburgh Steelers did just that on Sunday, hosting the Colts and defeating them 27-20 to improve to 5-3 after Week 9.
The solid play of Aaron Rodgers at quarterback has helped keep the Steelers atop the AFC North, but the defense deserves a lot of credit for slowing down a red-hot Indianapolis defense. While fans wanted the team to trade for a receiver (and Pittsburgh reportedly made a run at Jakobi Meyers), they didn’t pull the trigger on a deal prior to the deadline.
13) Los Angeles Chargers
- Last Week’s Ranking: 11
- Playoff Odds: 77.50%
Losing Joe Alt to injury surely stings for the Los Angeles Chargers, but they still come away from Week 9 winners after their seven-point victory over the Titans on Sunday.
Justin Herbert was rock solid for the Chargers this week, having thrown for 250 yards and run for 57 yards, adding three touchdowns from scrimmage in the process. Nitpickers will say they should’ve beaten a bottom-feeder like Tennessee by more, but you’ll take winners whenever you can get them in the NFL.
12) San Francisco 49ers
- Last Week’s Ranking: 16
- Playoff Odds: 74.10%
Mac Jones took the reins for the San Francisco 49ers at quarterback again in Week 9, and he brought forth another victory in their matchup against the Giants on Sunday. Despite all the injuries they’ve battled through, they now sit at 6-3.
Time will tell exactly how the 49ers do as the NFC West games pick up with their hobbled roster. For now, though, they’re winning games through good coaching and disciplined football.
11) New England Patriots
- Last Week’s Ranking: 12
- Playoff Odds: 93.90%
Giving up nine points in the fourth quarter made their win only a one-point victory, but the New England Patriots did exactly what they sought to do: extend their winning streak to six games. They did exactly that on Sunday, defeating the Falcons 24-23 at home to improve to 7-2.
It’s been a pretty easy schedule for the Patriots thus far, which has played a role in their appearance just outside the top ten. With a win over the Buccaneers next week, though, we’d have no choice but to acknowledge them.
10) Tampa Bay Buccaneers

- Playoff Odds: 90.90%
The 6-2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers had their bye week in Week 9, so their record didn’t change. If anything, having their bye this week was a benefit to them, seeing how many injuries they currently have.
9) Philadelphia Eagles
- Last Week’s Ranking: 8
- Playoff Odds: 93.60%
The Philadelphia Eagles came into their Week 9 bye with a 6-2 record. After losing two games in a row early in October, they picked up two consecutive wins right before the bye, showing they’re still one of the best teams in the NFL. Howie Roseman continues to be aggressive, making a pair of midseason trades to acquire Jaelan Phillips and Jaire Alexander to bolster Philadelphia’s defense.
8) Green Bay Packers
- Last Week’s Ranking: 4
- Playoff Odds: 70.30%
Perhaps uncharacteristically for the Green Bay Packers this season, they were upset by the Panthers at Lambeau Field, dropping to 5-2-1. A last-second field goal saw the Packers lose after three consecutive weeks with a win.
A team’s ranking is more the sum of its parts than it is one individual week, and it’s pretty clear the Packers are still one of the best teams in the NFL. Still, their loss on Sunday shows that anything can happen in this league.
7) Seattle Seahawks
- Last Week’s Ranking: 9
- Playoff Odds: 75.70%
It was smooth sailing for the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9. Sam Darnold threw for 330 yards with four touchdowns and an 87.5% completion percentage in their dominant Sunday night victory over the Commanders. Jaxon Smith-Njigba led the charge with eight catches for 129 yards in the win in Washington. As if that wasn’t enough firepower on offense, they acquired Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed at the 2025 NFL trade deadline.
What’s perhaps most intriguing about the 6-2 Seahawks is their undefeated record on the road. They’re 4-0 as the away team and have beaten some high-quality opponents on their respective home fields. That could be something to monitor as Seattle pushes for a playoff spot, whether that be as a Wild Card team or as the NFC West champions.
6) Detroit Lions
- Last Week’s Ranking: 5
- Playoff Odds: 59.60%
Victims of a divisional upset on their home field, the Detroit Lions fell to the Vikings in a tightly-contested battle on Sunday. This marked their second loss in the last three games of a gauntlet in their schedule.

All things considered, the Lions should still be considered one of the NFL’s best. Their passing attack is consistently one of the best in the game, though their run defense struggled a bit against Minnesota in Week 9.
5) Kansas City Chiefs

- Playoff Odds: 76.70%
It’s become a running gag that the Kansas City Chiefs always beat the Bills in the playoffs. The regular season has been a different story, though: Buffalo extended their five-game winning streak in the regular season with a narrow victory on Sunday, sinking the Chiefs to 5-4.
The Chiefs clearly have a record that falls short of their usual expectations, but all of their losses have come in shootouts against high-quality competition. Their record might not be as good as usual by the time the 2025 NFL regular season comes to an end, but they’ve always been more of a postseason team, anyway.
4) Indianapolis Colts

- Playoff Odds: 95.50%
Arguably the hottest team in the NFL going into Week 9, the Indianapolis Colts saw their winning ways end on Sunday, having been defeated by the Steelers on the road to lose their second game of the year.
At 7-2, the Colts are still one of the best teams in the game today. A seven-point loss to a playoff team in an environment like Pittsburgh is hardly enough to panic about. Still, their stellar offense seemed to take a step back this week. Now, after adding Sauce Gardner in a stunning trade prior to the deadline, it’s clear the Colts are loading up for a potential deep playoff run.
3) Denver Broncos

- Playoff Odds: 91.90%
It wasn’t the prettiest victory, but after scoring 11 points in the fourth quarter, the Denver Broncos came from behind to defeat the Texans and improve to a 7-2 record for the 2025 NFL season.
The winners of six games in a row, the Broncos are on an absolute heater at this stage of the regular season. Stacking up wins outside of the division bodes very well for their playoff chances as they head into the more difficult part of their schedule in the second half of the year.
2) Buffalo Bills

- Playoff Odds: 88.60%
The battles between the Buffalo Bills and the Chiefs have been nothing short of legendary over the years, and this year’s regular-season matchup was no exception. In the end, Buffalo won at home, 28-21, in a game that came down to the last second.

At 6-2, the Bills are comfortably one of the best teams in the NFL right now. They face competition atop the AFC East with the Patriots now in the picture, but they’re a safe bet to make the playoffs, regardless.
1) Los Angeles Rams
- Last Week’s Ranking: 3
- Playoff Odds: 84.60%
It was another impressive outing for the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, as they pummeled the Saints 34-10. Matthew Stafford ended up throwing four touchdown passes in the victory, with two of them going to Davante Adams.
For much of the 2025 NFL regular season, the Rams’ passing attack has been incredibly tough to stop. That continued in Week 9, and Kyren Williams added 114 rushing yards, to boot. Los Angeles has proven to be very difficult to stop.
