Jayden Daniels Injury Update: Latest on Commanders QB After Scary Incident on SNF vs. Seahawks

Jayden Daniels suffered a major injury on Sunday Night Football against the Seahawks. Here's the latest on the Commanders QB's status.

Jayden Daniels is not having the season he had envisioned before the start of the season. Coming off an NFC Championship appearance in his rookie season, he has struggled to stay healthy and has struggled to get into a rhythm. While the Commanders were getting blown out in the fourth quarter on Sunday Night Football, Daniels suffered an arm injury that did not look good.

What Happened to Jayden Daniels?

Daniels has been running for his life all game long. In the red zone, Daniels was tackled and suffered a rough arm injury. He was put in a brace and left the game.

He will not return to tonight’s game, and his season could likely be over. His teammates were visibly emotional after the play and as he left the field.

Jayden Daniels had just returned from a one-game absence due to a strained hamstring. He missed two games earlier in the season as well. Inexplicably, he remained in the game down 38-7 halfway through the fourth quarter. Now, the Commanders are probably going to the rest of the season with Marcus Mariota at quarterback.

Fantasy managers with Daniels should obviously seek a better replacement, but Mariota is a viable option. He has rushing upside, albeit not as much as Daniels, giving him a decent weekly floor.

This is a downgrade for the entire Commanders’ passing attack. However, it mostly overlooks Jacory Croskey-Merritt, who needs a positive game script to succeed. This is now a lost season for Washington, and it stands to reason that they will lose many more games. JCM is now a cut candidate.

Coming into Week 8, Daniels was ranked 23rd among quarterbacks in the league based on PFSN’s QB Impact metric with an impact score of 74.3. He looked dynamic on the ground once again in Week 9 despite missing last week. The passing attack was quite rough as the offensive line did not come ready to play. He was being pressured at what seemed to be every snap, and Daniels tried to make the most of it by extending plays.

The Commanders are staring at a tough reality now. They were getting dominated with their star QB on the field, and now they won’t have him for a while, either. Before the season, fans will have had their eyes on a division title. Now, it’s time to start looking at mock drafts as the Commanders’ season is over before Week 10. For the rest of the night, though, fans will be awaiting the update on Daniels, rather than what the future holds.
