One of, if not the biggest, halftime performances of the Thanksgiving Day slate is headlined by Post Malone. The former rapper-turned-country artist will take the stage at AT&T Stadium during halftime of the Dallas Cowboys vs. Kansas City Chiefs game. His performance will be seen around the world on CBS and Paramount+, as there’s no doubt the Cowboys and Chiefs will put up a historic number in the ratings.
Post Malone Set To Perform Songs From ‘F-1 Trillion’ During Halftime Show
While there will be nothing quite like the Super Bowl halftime show, Malone is going to do everything in his power to get everyone’s attention on Thanksgiving. Not everyone may be a fan of his new style of music, but he worked on his country album with some of the best in the industry. One of those names is Dolly Parton, someone who has been a mainstay in that genre her entire life.
Malone has done everything in his power to fully embrace the country lifestyle, including performing at the Grand Ole Opry. Once a country artist performs there, they’ve made it. Whether it’s legendary voices who have been singing for 50+ years, brand new artists on the rise, or someone like Malone who is going through an identity change, the Opry is the ultimate place to be.
Country music fans quickly accepted Malone as his work ethic was second to none. No matter what he did before becoming country, they’ve accepted him as one of their own. Malone’s “F-1 Trillion” album features songs with appearances from Tim McGraw, Hank Williams Jr., Morgan Wallen, Blake Shelton, Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley, Luke Combs, Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Ernest, Sierra Ferrell, Chris Stapleton, Hardy, and Billy Strings.
The album comprises a total of 18 songs. Surprisingly, only three of them are solos. Clearly, Malone not only wanted to win over the love and admiration of the country fan base, but he also wanted to pay his respects to the artists who paved the way before him. Way back on his first album, Malone referenced one of George Strait’s iconic songs, ‘All My Ex’s Live in Texas’.
From there, the rest was history. Malone has covered numerous country songs in the past, most notably performing a tribute to Joe Diffie at the 2023 CMA Awards. His switch to country was undoubtedly one of the most significant career moves for a singer in recent years, but it has now paid off, leading him to one of the biggest halftime shows in Thanksgiving history.
