Patriots Veteran Makes Feelings Clear on Will Campbell’s Future Following Super Bowl Disaster

A veteran speculates on Will Campbell's future following the rookie's struggles in Patriots' Super Bowl loss to the Seahawks.

Will Campbell was selected by the New England Patriots in the first round of the NFL Draft last year. He helped to greatly improve their offensive line during the 2025 season, but also turned in a disappointing performance in their Super Bowl loss to the Seattle Seahawks. This has led one of their veteran players to speculate about the rookie’s future.

Patriots Veteran Speculates on Will Campbell’s Future After Disappointing Super Bowl Performance

Campbell was credited with allowing 14 pressures against Drake Maye during their Super Bowl 60 loss to the Seahawks. This contributed to the Patriots’ offensive struggles, including their failure to score a point through the first three quarters. They did score 13 in the fourth quarter, but it was too late, as the game was essentially a blowout.

Veteran offensive lineman Morgan Moses commented on the rookies, according to a recent report from “Pro Football Talk,” referencing him being quoted by Mark Daniels in the aftermath of the game. Moses speculated on what this could mean for Campbell’s future and also reflected upon the rookie’s first NFL season.

Moses said, “I told him I’ve never seen a rookie come in and play the way he played at left tackle. The sky’s the limit for him, man. He has the opportunity to look back and rest a little bit, and get himself back into working out, and digest everything that’s happened.”

But for a rookie to go out there and play left tackle all the way to the Super Bowl, and do an amazing job and still have room to grow, he’s the guy,” he stated.

The Patriots took a massive step forward during the 2025 season, making it all the way to the Super Bowl, despite finishing the 2024 season with just a 4-13 record. Their focused improvements across the offensive line were one of the reasons why.

They finished in last place as a unit in the PFSN NFL Team OL Impact Rankings for offensive lines in 2024, but jumped all the way up to 12th for 2025-26.

Campbell was a big factor in their incredible turnaround, anchoring the left tackle position. Moses believes he lived up to his expectations as the fourth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and encouraged the rookie to be optimistic about his future.

He still believes he’s “the guy” in New England, despite his struggles in the Patriots’ final game, when he failed to overcome an elite Seahawks defense.
