Patrick Mahomes Defends Himself After Post Malone Accuses Him and Travis Kelce of Cheating

The Chiefs faced the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV at Hard Rock Stadium on February 2, 2020. The two sides were tied 10-10 at the end of the first half. The 49ers took a 10-point lead in the third quarter, just for the Chiefs to rack up 21 points in the final quarter to bring the Vince Lombardi Trophy to Kansas City after 50 years.

Kelce and Mahomes met Malone backstage before the concert following their trophy parade, and that’s where this tattoo saga began. The American rapper revealed what happened backstage in a collaboration video with T-Mobile.

He elaborated on his favorite story behind one of his tattoos, saying, “The Kansas City Chiefs tattoo is always a good story. I told Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes that if they beat me in a game of beer pong, I would get a tattoo of their signatures and the Kansas City Chiefs logo.

“And they cheated, so I lost. That’s probably my funniest story.”

Mahomes responded to the accusation by re-sharing the clip on his Instagram story with the text:

“To be clear, we won fair and square @postmalone #TmobilePartner”

In an interview with GQ Sports in 2020, the three-time Super Bowl champion explained how they ended up playing beer pong with Malone.

“We didn’t buy tickets,” Mahomes said. “But once we won the Super Bowl, we’re kinda like, ‘Can we get a suite?’”

They presented the rapper with a jersey to thank him for inviting them backstage, and then the beer pong game began. Mahomes revealed that Malone grew ruffled and changed partners many times after losing some rounds.

Malone waved off his manager, who asked him to take the stage after the 10th game. After a few more rounds, he handed a piece of paper to the Chiefs’ star duo and asked them to sign it. He promised them that he’d get their autographs inked on his body if they beat him again.

“He has a tattoo artist literally in the room,” Mahomes said. “I’m like, ‘Dude, you do not actually have to get a tattoo of our autographs.’ ”

But Malone didn’t listen, creating a story neither he nor the Kansas City faithful will soon forget.

  1. They have I believe definitely rig there games especially twice beating the 49ers. Which I saw that the referees were in on fixing those superbowl games . There were too many calls that were mishandled amd not looked at in depth . Besides to me the 49ers were a better team. Not from just my standpoint
