Dak Prescott’s Jersey Patch

Prescott is wearing a patch on his jersey for being a Walter Payton Man of the Year winner. He won the award in 2022 and had a custom patch made for his jersey to represent the honor.

Prescott takes great pride in his service to the community and in raising awareness for mental health. He is always involved, and this played a massive role in his Man of the Year recognition. Dallas has a role model under center off the field and a solid quarterback on the field.

On the field, Prescott is looking to bounce back from an underwhelming 2024 season, which included a season-ending injury near the halfway point of the season. He’s starting to look much more comfortable running the offense, and with the emergence of George Pickens as an elite weapon.

The Cowboys have two 40-point performances in their opening four games. This is an encouraging sign that the offense has the capabilities to outscore almost any team in the NFL. The problem is that they barely won the first game and tied the second time.

The Cowboys offense is very shorthanded today against the Jets, though. They are missing star WR CeeDee Lamb, WR/KR KaVontae Turpin, and four of their five starting offensive linemen. It hasn’t looked bad so far in Week 5 as Prescott has looked strong operating a shorthanded offense.

Prescott has completed nine out of 14 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown. His linkup with Ferguson has been the only touchdown through the first 25 minutes. The rushing attack hasn’t been very effective as the Jets have done a solid job limiting the ground game. But they’ve struggled to stop Prescott and the air attack as they’ve been able to move it well despite being down offensive linemen.

A win for Dallas would be huge for the team, as they would move to .500 on the season. Despite the Jets’ poor record, a shorthanded win for the Cowboys would be quite the statement.

Prescott looks poised to drag this team back into contention and get them back on track while they await the healthy return of their starters.
