ESPN’s Pat McAfee Goes Viral For Smoking Weed and Offering Mike McCarthy a Hit During Live NFL Draft Show

Pat McAfee is no stranger to making headlines in everything he does. From being choked out by former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther on Monday Night Raw to hosting his “Draft Spectacular”, McAfee has once again found himself making waves for engaging in a particular activity while hosting his sixth annual “Draft Spectacular”.

Pat McAfee Smokes Weed and Offers a Hit to Former Cowboys Head Coach Mike McCarthy

While hosting his live NFL Draft edition of “The Pat McAfee Show” for the sixth year in a row, Pat McAfee, in an unsurprising fashion, took a hit of a weed pen in the middle of the live show.

As seen in the clip shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Dov Kleiman, McAfee even offered a hit right after to former Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy, who declined with a smile before chucking the pen off into the Green Bay crowd.

McCarthy had joined Pat McAfee and the boys as a guest for their draft episode tonight, offering insight as the selections came in throughout the night.

The view in the tweet from NFL analyst Dov Kleiman notes that this occurred while on live television, though it is unclear if this shot, coming from a camera in the crowd, made it onto the stream of the show.

The weed pen was not all that took part in the shenanigans on “The Pat McAfee Show” throughout the night, as there was alcohol and comments that would be censored out of ordinary ESPN programming.

One of the more notable passionate moments with choice words came as the Green Bay Packers announced their first-round selection of Matthew Golden, much to the excitement of McAfee’s co-host, Packer fan and “toxic table” member Ty Schmit, notably portraying his alter ego during the show, “Mad Mel Kiper,” a comedic take on ESPN NFL analyst Mel Kiper.

Ordinary is not the word to use when talking about anything Pat McAfee-related, as the former Indianapolis Colts punter has been unapologetically himself since entering the league in 2009. His show is notorious for its raw and almost uncensored content and has offered a unique take on the sports world from the traditional sports talk shows broadcast live on television.

The antics have not affected McAfee, as his show has allowed his platform to grow yearly. He is a featured member of WWE as a commentator on Monday Night Raw and an occasional competitor; he is an analyst on ESPN’s “College GameDay”; his show has been brought to WrestleMania, the NFL Draft, Super Bowl locations, and so much more.

For McAfee, it was just another night at the office, hanging out with his boys and talking about the one thing they all love- sports.
