As the 2025 NFL Draft nears, the excitement of teams around Shedeur Sanders is growing, and the Cleveland Browns are very interested in him. After meeting with Sanders at the NFL Combine, the Browns’ management was reportedly impressed by his “confident and engaging” personality.

Pat McAfee on Cleveland Browns’ Strong Interest in Shedeur Sanders
On The Pat McAfee Show, McAfee relayed an insider report suggesting Sanders could be a good fit for the Browns, a franchise valued at $5.15 billion, according to Forbes.
“Mary Kay Cabot, who’s very close to the Cleveland Browns organization says, ‘They like him. They’re big fans of Shedeur.’ So, maybe it is Shedeur Sanders getting drafted to the Cleveland Browns at two if he’s still available,” McAfee said.
“He’d be going to a team in Cleveland that has maybe been counted out for a while, and see what he can do. [Shedeur] has been there done that twice now with Jackson State and with Colorado. Maybe he’s the perfect guy to be a Cleveland Brown.”

The Browns hold the No. 2 overall pick and are evaluating multiple top prospects, including Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter, Colorado’s Travis Hunter, Miami quarterback Cam Ward, and Sanders.
Cleveland has already conducted in-depth visits with Carter, Hunter, and Sanders, giving the team more time to connect with the prospects after the combine’s shorter interview process. These visits took place at the Browns’ facility on March 5.
Meanwhile, Pro Football Network’s latest mock draft by Reese Decker projects Sanders to be selected No. 3 overall by the New York Giants.
Decker’s analysis of the QB reads: “Sanders has a live arm capable of layering throws with pinpoint accuracy and precision. His strong, balanced lower body allows him to fend off pressure and deliver accurate off-platform throws.
“Whether operating in rhythm or improvising off-schedule, Sanders excels. His pocket mobility and ability to extend plays with his legs, paired with his toughness and grit, make him an ideal fit for the Big Blue.”
Sanders threw for 4,134 yards for 37 touchdowns on a 74.0% completion rate in the 2024 campaign.
