The Green Bay Packers may have been without star pass rusher Micah Parsons, but that offered little excuse for what followed. After entering the fourth quarter with a commanding 21–6 lead, Green Bay completely unraveled.
The Chicago Bears, led by sophomore quarterback Caleb Williams, erupted for 25 points in the final period to secure a stunning 31–27 victory and advance in the NFL playoffs. The collapse sent shockwaves through the fanbase, and even Packers superfan Lil Wayne didn’t hold back in his reaction.
Lil Wayne Sounds Off After Green Bay’s Stunning Playoff Collapse
Quarterback Jordan Love and the Packers’ offense, which is ranked seventh in the league according to PFSN’s Offense Impact Metric, were rolling early. Love threw three touchdown passes in the first half, while Williams struggled mightily, throwing some of the worst interceptions of his young career.
But as they’ve done throughout the season under head coach Ben Johnson, the Bears refused to go away. Chicago gradually slowed Green Bay’s offense, and Williams flipped the script late, throwing two touchdown passes in the final five minutes to complete the comeback and eliminate the Packers.
That collapse set off a wave of frustration, none louder than from Wayne, who is a diehard Packers fan. The rapper, who has frequently criticized Green Bay’s defense throughout the season, unleashed an unfiltered reaction on social media following the loss.
“We just loss a playoff game to a n***a w purple nails we fkn suk bear azz! Bare a**!!! We don’t deserve to be in the playoffs. Straight like that,” he tweeted, referring to Williams, who paints his nails.

The result also reignited questions about head coach Matt LaFleur’s job security, with several analysts arguing that such a collapse could have serious consequences.
Eli Berkovits of 247Sports wrote after the game ended, “I don’t give a **t about regular season records… If Matt Lafleur is still the coach of this team come Tuesday, then we know they have zero intent on being a real franchise.”
LaFleur declined to address his future following the loss but acknowledged the weight of the defeat. Saturday night’s collapse, he said, “is gonna hurt for a really, really long time.”
While LaFleur enjoyed early postseason success, leading the Packers to the NFC Championship Game in both 2019 and 2020 with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, recent years have told a different story. With Love under center, Green Bay has just one playoff win and has now been eliminated in the Wild Card round in back-to-back seasons.
Although the defense deserves much of the blame for surrendering 25 fourth-quarter points, the ultimate accountability rests with LaFleur. And after another season-ending collapse, that responsibility is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
