The Green Bay Packers will not be remembering their loss to the Broncos fondly. They lost control of the NFC North lead, suffered multiple key injuries, including a torn ACL to Micah Parsons, and blew a few late-game opportunities.
Christian Watson left the game with a chest injury and didn’t return. Green Bay released an update on his status, and despite the scary nature of a chest injury, it could have been much worse.
Latest on Christian Watson’s Injury
The Packers announced that Watson was examined at a local hospital in Denver. Chest injuries are serious and should not be taken lightly, but after examination, Watson was deemed okay and will travel home with the Packers.
Staying overnight would have been a worrying sign for Green Bay and Watson. This doesn’t mean anything for his status in Week 16, but it is good news for the Packers that Watson avoided any serious chest damage.
Packers also finished the game without right tackle Zach Tom and safety Evan Williams, both of who sustained knee injuries that are not believed to be long term, per @RobDemovsky.

Watson was finding the end zone at a very high clip before the Packers took on the Broncos. With back-to-back 80+ yard games and five touchdowns in the last four games, Watson was poised for a big performance. It wasn’t going to be easy with Pat Surtain II on the other team, but the injury derailed any potential production for Watson.
Watson had just three catches for 29 yards before leaving the game. Watson has only appeared in seven games, but is the 4th-best receiver based on PFSN’s WR Impact metric with an impact score of 90.0. The Packers will need Watson back and will be hoping that he can suit up in Week 16 for a pivotal matchup against the Chicago Bears.
Watson dominated the Bears in Week 14 with four catches for 89 yards and two touchdowns. The Packers need to beat the Bears next week, or they can kiss their NFC North title hopes goodbye. Health will be of the utmost importance over the next few days because Green Bay entered banged up and left potentially worse off. They need to be ready for the Bears, and if they aren’t fully healthy, it makes everything that much harder.
