Nebraska Volleyball player Bergen Reilly capped off her 2025 conference season in a remarkable fashion, winning the Big Ten Setter and Player of the Year awards. This marked Reilly’s third consecutive Big Ten Setter of the Year award in her collegiate career, but it was her first time winning the Player of the Year award.
Reilly’s outstanding performances were pivotal in helping her team finish the conference season with an unbeaten 20-0 record, and she also won the Big Ten Conference Championships title. The Nebraska junior recently expressed her emotions on winning these two significant awards.
Bergen Reilly Credits Her Team for Winning Individual Big Ten Honors
In the overall regular season, Reilly excelled as a setter, providing 938 assists, scoring 65 kills, and accumulating 238 digs. These performances also led her to be among the All-Big Ten team of the season for the third time in her career.
Speaking of her exploits, Reilly shared that these awards are a cumulative result of the hard work the entire team has put in. She said, “It’s awesome, it’s an honor to be the Big Ten player of the Year, but we always talk about these awards as if they are really team awards, especially as a setter, I can’t have any success without great passers and great hitters around me.
“I am grateful that I have such great teammates and support staff, and I am honored and blessed,” the Nebraska setter further added.
Following the conclusion of the regular season, Reilly will next be seen at the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championships in the clash against LIU at the Bob Devaney Sports Center on Friday.
Nebraska Volleyball Assistant Coach Kelly Natter Comments on Reilly’s Winning Major Big Ten Awards
Assistant coach Natter recently attributed the overall improvement in Reilly’s game during the 2025 season to her increased chances of winning the Big Ten Setter of the Year award. Notably, Natter herself has been a standout setter for her team during her playing days, with two NCAA Championship titles with the Huskers.
Speaking about Reilly’s performance this season, Natter said, “I would say for Bergen, obviously she’s a great setter and always has been, but this year she has been an awesome defender, an awesome blocker, one of our best servers, and I think just her whole well-rounded game is kind of what really pushed her to win that Player of the Year as well.”
Further in the conversation, Natter also noted that the Huskers have a well-balanced and coordinated team, featuring star players in all positions on the court, making the team a challenging one to beat.
