Suni Lee shares her excitement about a new role at the Minnesota Vikings vs. the Detroit Lions NFL game on Christmas.

Suni Lee took up the role of a guest photographer at the Week 17 NFL game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions. Lee has been exploring various avenues since she last competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Hmong-American gymnast made a name for herself in the sporting world, becoming the first from her community to win an Olympic gold medal.

Suni Lee Talks About New Role at the NFL Week 17 Game

Lee has been a recognizable presence in the NFL games, especially featuring the big Vikings, as she also hails from Minnesota. In October 2025, she donned a Vikings jacket to show her support for the team in a game against the Philadelphia Eagles, as posted on her social media.

In a recent Instagram update by the NFL, Lee has taken on the role of a guest photographer at the Vikings vs. Lions game. The video clip featured her with the camera, as she said:

“Hey, guys, it’s Suni. I’m at the game today. Merry Christmas. I’m going to be a photographer for the day, so I’m really excited. Let’s have a good game. Skol!”

Lee has also been a significant presence in the fashion world. After the Paris Games, she relocated to New York to explore new opportunities, making several red-carpet appearances at events such as New York Fashion Week, the Gold Gala, and the CFDA Fashion Awards, among others.

Suni Lee Gets Real About Not Forcing Her Kids Into Pursuing Gymnastics

The six-time Olympic medalist was six when gymnastics piqued her interest. She began her journey in the home backyard, later joining the Midwest Gymnastics Centre, and then switched to Jess Graba. She began her junior elite career in 2016 and went on to represent Asian Americans at the Olympic stage in Tokyo 2020.

Beneath the glitz and glamour of the sport lies its demanding nature, which often takes a toll on athletes both mentally and physically. Lee was no exception. She was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease in 2023, which took a significant toll on her mental well-being. On the Haha podcast, the three-time World medalist revealed that she would never compel her future children to take up gymnastics, as she herself had to endure a great deal.

Lee made her debut in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2025, blending fashion-forward imagery with her athletic strength in the photoshoot.
