Olympic champion gymnast Simone Biles recently shared her thoughts on the Super Bowl halftime show controversy. Rapper and singer Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, better known as Bad Bunny, courted controversy for his performance at the Super Bowl event held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
The Super Bowl is the final game of the National Football League. The Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots by 29-13 to win the ultimate championship.
Simone Biles Reacts to Bad Bunny’s Performance at the NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show
Bad Bunny performed alongside popstar cum actress Lady Gaga in the NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, that was not the event’s talking point. The Puerto Rican rapper cum singer sported a football that was embossed with the following words,
“TOGETHER WE ARE AMERICA!”
This invoked the ire of many people, including the incumbent US President Donald Trump. He wrote in a long rant on his personal social media platform, Truth Social,
“Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World. This ‘Show’ is just a ‘slap in the face’ to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day – including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History!”
President Trump also accused the media of giving ‘undue attention’ to the performance, as he further added,
“There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show, and watch, it will get
great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD – And, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule.”
However, it seemed no one paid heed to President Trump’s views as the NFL Super Bowl halftime show broke viewership records. Biles shared the image of Bad Bunny’s token on her Instagram story, with the following caption,
“The only thing More Powerful Than Hate Is Love.”
