Simone Biles Gets Overwhelmed as Lindsey Vonn and Team USA Olympians Add Her to Their Mount Rushmore

Simone Biles reacts as Lindsey Vonn and freestyle skier Olivia Giaccio names her on their Mount Rushmore, just hours before the Cortina Olympics.

Simone Biles got overwhelmed after Lindsey Vonn and other athletes named her to their Mount Rushmore. Biles made an impact in sports like a few others, becoming the most decorated US gymnast at the 2024 Paris Games.

While Biles is taking a break from her sport, Vonn has been performing off the charts at 41 and has booked her spot on the Cortina Olympics team.

Simone Biles Gets Flooded with Emotion as Lindsey Vonn and Others Name Her on Their Mount Rushmore

Biles has been focusing on other aspects of her life now, especially being the most loyal cheerleader for her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens. She also continues to be a leading voice in mental health awareness and to build a strong brand off the mat, engaging in brand endorsements and business ventures.

The seven-time Olympic gold medalist has not only left a lasting impression on fans but also on her fellow athletes. In a recent interview with Vonn and freestyle skier Olivia Giaccio, Biles made the rounds as both skiers picked her for their Mount Rushmore.

Vonn mentioned the gymnast as her first choice, and the following names were also mentioned: Serena Williams, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Ilona Maher, and others. She did so since she couldn’t limit her list to just four.

Giaccio named Biles, Katie Ledecky, Mikaela Shiffrin, and Gabby Thomas for the all-women squad, prompting a reaction from Biles who shared it on her Instagram story.

Vonn suffered a left knee injury in a recent downhill race, suffering a knee injury which left her with a ruptured ACL, bone bruising, and meniscal tears. Despite the severity of her setback, the 41-year-old announced that she would compete at the 2026 LA Olympics, the last stop of her skiing career.

When she announced her crash, Biles jumped into the comments to support her fellow US athlete. She wished Vonn a speedy recovery and commented:

“Sending love, babes.”

The three-time Olympic medalist competed in her second season since her comeback in 2024-25. Vonn defied belief by winning two golds in the downhill discipline and earning more podiums, nearly unfathomable at her age. Her record-breaking season qualified her for the fifth Games.

Biles, on the other hand, has been the talk of the nation, as she hasn’t announced anything about her comeback for the home Olympics in 2028. However, she confirmed that she would be present in ‘some capacity’.

Vonn was at the helm of the 2025 Laureus Sports Awards and handed Biles the Sportswoman of the Year award, accompanied by an admiring speech.
