Nebraska Volleyball’s Maisie Boesiger breaks down in tears as she removes her shoes for the last time, marking an end to her collegiate career after a heartbreaking loss to Texas A&M in the Regional Finals.

Boesiger and her fellow seniors were freshmen when the Big Reds lost a match at home in 2022. The Elite Eight loss put an end to their 63-game win streak at their beloved Bob Devaney Sports Center.

Maisie Boesiger Breaks Down Uncontrollably in Her Final Moments as a Husker

Boesiger had been a defensive specialist and serving substitute for most of her Nebraska career until starting as a libero for the first time at the home final stop of the 2025 NCAA regular season. That event also marked Senior Night, as the Huskers’ final-year athletes received a celebratory send-off from the program.

She posted a record-high 13 kills and five assists, helping the Big Reds to take a commanding win over Ohio State and capping the season at 30-0. She and her squad entered the NCAA tournament and racked up wins in the first two rounds and the NCAA Regional Semifinals. However, in the Elite Eight, the No. 1 team fell to the Aggies, ending their 33 overall win streak.

The match also meant bidding goodbye to seniors, Boesiger, Rebekah Allick, and Allie Sczech, who were key contributors to the Huskers’ success this season and over the past four years. Following the heartbreak, Boesiger recorded herself removing her shoes for the last time, breaking down in uncontrollable tears.

“I told myself that I would do a video where I take off my shoes..” she said while falling apart emotionally.
