Swiss skier Michelle Gisin suffered a devastating crash while practicing for a downhill run in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Upon hearing the news of the crash, Lindsey Vonn took to social media to send a heartwarming message of support to Gisin.

​Gisin was practicing for a downhill run scheduled to take place this weekend when the unfortunate crash occurred. She is said to have crashed at roughly 70 mph and had to be airlifted to a hospital for treatment.

How Did Lindsey Vonn React To Michelle Gisin’s Crash?

Vonn expressed her support for Gisin by sharing a picture of her on Instagram. She wrote in the caption, “Hope you’re okay 🙏🙏”

​Although the extent of Gisin’s injuries is yet to be disclosed, the Swiss ski team confirmed that “she can move her arms and legs normally.” However, she is said to have suffered injuries to her left knee and right wrist and had to undergo emergency surgery in a Zurich hospital.

​According to the Swiss ski team, the 32-year-old skier is now in stable condition.

​Although Gisin’s time on the snow has been temporarily halted, Vonn is still gearing up to begin her season in style. Now in her second season since coming out of retirement, she is set to make her long-awaited season debut in St. Moritz.

​Notably, the races are scheduled for December 12-13, 2025. Beyond that, Vonn also has her sights set on competing at the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics. Should she make it to the Olympics, she’ll make history as one of the oldest women competing at that level.

Lindsey Vonn Opens Up on the Tough ‘Mental Game’ She Endures as an Athlete

Ahead of her season debut, Vonn shared a picture carousel on Instagram, comparing negative and positive statements. In the caption, she shed light on the mental battles she has faced through the years and how she has had to train herself to develop a positive mindset.

​“Some days the mental game is harder than the physical one. That’s just part of being an athlete… and part of being human,” she wrote.

​The Olympic gold medalist revealed that she makes an effort every day to maintain a positive outlook on life. She sees each day as a new opportunity to change the way she thinks.

​Vonn concluded the post by encouraging her audience to keep moving forward no matter what. She urged them not to “hold failures” over themselves, but to see them as an avenue for growth and expansion moving forward.
