Jordan Chiles shared her feelings after capping the second meet of the season, where UCLA claimed a third-place finish behind Oklahoma and LSU. The Olympian was part of the Bruins team that finished as runners-up in the 2025 NCAA playoffs.
Chiles resumed her college career in the 2024-25 season after her gold-winning stint at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Jordan Chiles Sets Her Footing for a Successful Season with Her Second Meet at UCLA
Chiles, on her second season back, shows no signs of stopping on the gymnastic mat. She went all in at the first meet of the season on January 3, placing first on four events and earning the all-around title, giving UCLA the edge to top the standings, as California and Washington trailed in second and third at the Best of the West Quad at Alaska Airlines Arena.
Chiles showcased her best footwork to a medley of hits by Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Janet Jackson, and Tina Turner, as her Dancing with the Stars flair kicked in. She carried that momentum into the second quad meet of the season on January 10, 2025, finishing atop the floor standings with a meet-winning score of 9.925. UCLA finished third, trailing Oklahoma and LSU.
Following the event, she shared moments from her winning maneuver on her Instagram handle, pairing them with off-the-mat shots, including walk-ins in fashionable outfits. She captioned:
“Second meet in the books!!!! Living the dream!!!”
The 24-year-old partnered with professional dancer Ezra Sosa on the dancing reality show. The duo earned a third-place finish, behind winner Robert Erwin and runner-up Alix Earle.
Jordan Chiles Once Shared What Helps Her Put Things Into Perspective
Chiles has not only been a presence on the mat, but also off it, especially with her glamorous event appearances and brand endorsements, among others. She achieved massive success, becoming a two-time Olympian and competing at the global level for years. But these were all a dream when she was just a young girl, trying to establish herself in the sports world.
In an interview with Marie Claire, the gymnast shared that one of her leisure-time activities, watching old videos of her performances, helps her put things into perspective when life becomes too overwhelming. She said:
“Yes, I’m a two-time Olympian, and I do all these things, but it reminds me of the little girl who wanted to be a great athlete and inspiration.”
Chiles’s floor scores in Paris were initially upgraded at her team’s request, earning her the bronze medal, which had initially been awarded to Ana Barbosu. However, after an extended review, the governing body ruled that the appeal had been submitted past the deadline, meaning Chiles would have to relinquish the medal.
