Despite concluding her Nebraska Volleyball stint last year, Merritt Beason’s bond with her teammates has remained close. A recent example of their closeness was seen in Beason’s recent post, where she shared major highlights from her recent days.
Beason spent just two years of her collegiate career in Nebraska. However, she was immensely successful in this tenure, having scored 455 and 339Â kills in these seasons, respectively.
How Did Beason’s Former Nebraska Volleyball Teammates React to Her Post?
Following her first professional season with the Atlanta Vibe earlier this year, Beason has been involved in a coaching assignment with her former high school, the Gardendale High School Volleyball team, in her hometown of Alabama.
She recently shared a few clicks of her recent days in Alabama, including glimpses from her coaching stint, captioning it, “This & that.”
Her former teammate and Nebraska middle blocker reacted to the post, commenting, “Beautiful.” LOVB Omaha player and her former teammate, Lexi Rodriguez, wrote, “so cutie.”. Several other players from the volleyball fraternity, such as Kennedi Orr and Marlie Monserez, also commented on Beason’s highlights.

Beason recently made an important decision in her pro career as she moved from the Atlanta Vibe to the Omaha Supernovas. The Supernovas are a relatively successful team compared to the Vibe in the Pro Volleyball Federation, having won the title in 2024.
Former Husker Beason Reflected on Her Decision to Join the Omaha Supernovas
Beason’s decision to join the Omaha Supernovas from the Atlanta Vibe was fueled by several factors, including her love for playing in Nebraska and, obviously, her former coach, John Cook’s, move to the Supernovas as co-owner and general manager.
Beason spoke about this in a recent conversation. Beason explained that playing in Nebraska is a priority for her. “Going into (free agency), I knew what Nebraska had to offer. Obviously, it is different from being at the University of Nebraska to being on a pro team here, but I wanted to get back to Omaha. That was kind of my top choice. I wanted to be back in Nebraska,” Beason said.
The former Husker captain also opened up about the volleyball environment around Nebraska, stating, “It’s so clichĂ©, but there is no place like Nebraska. Playing volleyball there is such a special and unique experience.”
Before her move to the Supernovas, Beason played just one season for the Atlanta Vibe, performing exceptionally well in her debut pro year. The Alabama-born player managed 191 kills and 148 digs during this stint.
