Chloe Kim received a heartfelt message from her boyfriend, Myles Garrett, on Valentine’s Day as the snowboarder staged a comeback to win a silver medal in the halfpipe at the 2026 Winter Olympics. The American was on a pursuit to become the first snowboarder to win three straight Olympic golds, but missed the top finish by an inch to the South Korean, Choi Gaon.
Kim topped the qualifiers, becoming the only snowboarder to earn above 90, but couldn’t maintain the momentum in the finals, competing with shoulder braces.
Chloe Kim Receives Heartfelt Support From Myles Garrett Amid the 2026 Winter Olympics
Chloe Kim was a force to be reckoned with at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics, becoming the youngest Olympic champion in her sport at 17. She repeated her feat in Beijing 2022 and cemented her status as the most decorated female snowboarder on the circuit.
She has also amassed eight X Games wins and is tied with Shaun White in total Olympic medals after becoming the first woman to medal in snowboard halfpipe at three Olympic Games, following her silver medal-winning performance.
Her newest pillar of strength, Garrett of the Cleveland Browns, who leaves no stone unturned to show his support for his girlfriend, Kim, was a constant on the sidelines during the Games. On witnessing the Olympic gold medalist showcase her prowess on the course, Garrett couldn’t help but shower her with praise.
In a recent Instagram post, the football defensive end shared Kim’s phenomenal Olympic moments and concluded the picture carousel with a screenshot of a video call. He expressed pride in her strength and resilience and wished her a Valentine’s Day, writing:
“So proud of you! I’m thankful that I get to be by your side watching the extraordinary things you do. You fought through so much to even get to this point and you earned everything and more. The 🐐, my love and my Valentine. Happy Valentine’s Day babe,”
This came after Kim shared a photo of Garrett on her story, teasing him, and wrote:
“update: still havent been asked but I think we’r each others Valentines maybe.”
The couple has been together since 2025, making their relationship public with a kiss during a Browns game in November.
Kim was far from disappointed with her runner-up finish, as she was often seen smiling ear to ear, even on the halfpipe podium. Later, in a conversation with the Today Show, her words revealed that the reason behind her happiness was Garrett. She called him her ‘best friend’ and ‘rock,’ and a fellow athlete who understands a sportsperson’s mindset.
The latter also cheered on the snowboarder with a custom jacket featuring her picture in Olympic colors.
Kim, 25, was staring at a potentially career-ending fate when she tore her labrum during training just weeks before the Games. However, she pushed forward with her mental fortitude and took on the course wearing a brace.
