Chloe Kim Says She Can’t Snowboard Until Right Before the 2026 Olympics After Injury As Lindsey Vonn Sends Support

Chloe Kim has revealed a major update regarding her fitness ahead of the Milan Winter Olympics in February, prompting a reaction from Lindsey Vonn.

American snowboarder Chloe Kim has revealed a major update regarding her fitness ahead of the Milan Winter Olympics in February. Kim, who secured qualification for the Games by topping the World rankings in 2025, is scheduled to represent Team USA in the women’s halfpipe event. This will mark her third Olympic appearance, with her debut coming at the 2018 PyeongChang Games at age 17, where she won gold in women’s snowboard halfpipe.

Chloe Kim’s Update Prompts Reaction From Lindsey Vonn

Kim’s season has sparkled with multiple victories, cementing her status as a top contender for Olympic gold. Her most recent appearance was in the Copper Mountain halfpipe on Dec. 19th, 2025.

Kim burst onto the scene at the 2018 Games and then defended her Olympic crown in Beijing in 2022, solidifying her place among snowboarding legends. With eight X Games golds, including a record-setting win at just 14, her talent has shone brightly from the start.

In a video shared on Instagram, Kim revealed that she suffered from an injury ahead of the Milan Games, stating:

“I’m sharing an update after staying indoors since my MRI on Friday – I’m excited to head out today. The bad news: I tore my labrum. The good news: It’s the less severe type, which I’m really happy about. Naturally, I’m disappointed I can’t snowboard until right before the Olympics – that’ll be tough.”

She added that it’s just a small bump on her road to Milan: “I haven’t gotten nearly the reps I’d like, but that’s okay. After all these years, every season brings new challenges, and this is mine for 2026. Still, I’m grateful I’ll be good to go for the Games.”

Alpine skier Lindsey Vonn commented on her post, showing her support:

“You got this ❤️”

Vonn will also be competing at the Milan Games, marking her final Olympic appearance at the age of 41. She made her comeback to alpine skiing in the 2024-25 season after retiring in 2019 due to multiple injuries.
