Ahead of her Winter Olympics event, Chloe Kim pens a heartfelt note to share her journey and shout to the support behind her success.

Chloe Kim penned a heartfelt note reflecting on her journey, from her parents’ sacrifices to reaching the heights of success as an American snowboarder. She touched down in Livigno to compete in the third Olympic edition of her career.

Kim was one of the first U.S. athletes, across sports, to qualify for the Olympics. She delivered a stellar performance at the 2025 X Games, earning the World No. 1 spot and securing her Olympic qualification.

Chloe Kim Pens a Heartfelt Note About Her Journey in Snowboarding

Kim was in the women’s halfpipe snowboarding event at the 2018 Winter Games, where she won the gold medal and became the youngest woman to achieve so. In the following edition in Beijing 2022, she won another gold medal in halfpipe, becoming the first woman to do so. She also unfurled her prowess in the X Games, racking up eight golds in the SuperPipe discipline, and her feat last year tied Shaun White for the most SuperPipe wins overall.

Kim is now looking to become a three-time women’s snowboard halfpipe champion, an unprecedented achievement in her sport. After landing in Livigno, she shared pictures of her younger self in snowboarding gear, alongside her parents and her identity card from when she was five.

In her long caption, she let her heart out, expressing the joy of representing the USA for the third time.

“I can’t believe I’ve arrived in Milan to represent my country at the Olympic Games for the third time. If you told little me that, she wouldn’t believe you. This one feels especially meaningful for so many reasons.”

The 25-year-old then narrated the story of her South Korean parents, who left their lives behind and relocated to the United States to give their children an American life. She dedicated her Olympic journey to Milan to her parents and took pride in being a frontrunner in the superpipe for Team USA.

“I am proud of my heritage. I am proud of my journey. And I am proud to represent a country that is strongest when it embraces diversity, dignity, and hope,” she added.

Kim’s line-up for the Olympics will also feature 2018 and 2022 Olympian Maddie Mastro, as well as other debutants.

Kim earned the Best Female Action Sports Athlete ESPY Award three years in a row, among other honors. She was also on Time magazine’s list of 100 Most Influential People in 2018.
