Bo Bassett is back in action. The senior wrestling sensation played a crucial role in his alma mater’s surprise victory over the Wyoming Seminary School, as his younger brother Keegan assisted the team with his own brilliant performance.
The Bassett brothers helped the Bishop McCort High School bounce back from early setbacks. The McCort School ultimately won the duel by a close margin of 28-27.
Bo Bassett Expresses Joy Following McCort School’s Victory
Bassett reacted in joy over the hard-fought victory with multiple Instagram stories. The senior wrestling champion shared updates of the match on his timeline.
In one of them, the teenage wrestler wrote, “Senior Night, 28-27 W over Wyoming Sem! Grateful for my Team. Grateful for McCort. Grateful”

The McCort School went on the back foot initially, suffering two consecutive losses in the 107 and 114-pound categories.
However, Keegan brought the institution back into the game with a victory by fall. His victory looked like a flash in the pan as Wyoming won back the lead by 5-1.
However, the comeback came in the 145 lbs. category, where Jackson Butler defeated his opponent, Matthew Dailey, by a 2-1 score.
Bo Bassett followed up by winning his 152 lbs. game against Michael Turi by a technical fall, followed by consecutive victories in the 160 (Melvin Miller) and 172 lbs (Emory Gunby) categories, respectively.
Taking a Look at Bassett’s Overall Track Record Last Season
Bassett had a mixed bag last year. While he maintained his supremacy in high school wrestling, the wrestling sensation failed to qualify for any level of the World Championships for the first time in years, at either the U20 or senior level.

Bassett had won the 2021 U17 World Championships held in Budapest. He later won a bronze medal at the 2024 U20 World Championships in Pontevedra, Spain.
Bassett made up for the losses in early 2025 with subsequent victories in the Grand Prix tournament and the Junior Pan American Games. He also made his debut for the Real American Freestyle wrestling league in November 2025, winning both his duels by fall.
Bassett scouted various institutions for his collegiate career. He initially thought of joining the Iowa Hawkeyes, but eventually chose the Virginia Tech Hokies for his upcoming collegiate season from 2026-27.
