High School Phenom Bo Bassett Reaches Historic 150-0 as Brother Keegan Reacts

American high school wrestler Bo Bassett notched yet another accomplishment to his name, leading to praise from his younger brother, Keegan

Bo Bassett, a standout American wrestler, keeps raising the bar with every match, adding another win to his impressive record and fueling his reputation as one of the nation’s most electrifying young talents.

Bassett’s most recent accomplishment earned praise from his younger brother, Keegan Bassett, who also attends Bishop McCort and competes in the 107-114 lb weight class.

How Did Bo Bassett’s Brother, Keegan, React to His Historic Accomplishment?

Ranked No. 1 nationally at 150 pounds and the top overall recruit for the class of 2026, Bassett is on the brink of launching his collegiate journey, already boasting a trophy case full of honors from his years at Bishop McCort Catholic High School in Pennsylvania.

Bassett is set to join Virginia Tech as part of their 2026 class, committing to their wrestling program in October 2025. Bassett had many options and initially committed to the University of Iowa in February 2025, but later decommitted after discussions with his family. He will compete for the Hokies in the 2026-27 collegiate wrestling season.

After the Bishop McCort wrestling team’s latest showdown, an Instagram post celebrated Bassett’s milestone 150th high school victory. His brother Keegan was quick to show his support, commenting, “Legacy.”

Keegan is carving out his own legacy on the mat, ranked No. 3 nationally at 106 pounds. He captured gold at the 2025 U17 World Championships in the 45 kg freestyle, pinning Iran’s Parsa Tahmasbi in a dramatic final. His resume sparkles with six state titles, two Super 32 crowns, a Fargo championship, and three World Team appearances.

Bassett On His Recruitment Process

Beyond Virginia Tech and Iowa, Bassett’s list of suitors read like a who’s who of college wrestling, with Penn State, Oklahoma State, Michigan, and Rutgers all vying for his commitment. In a recent interview, he admitted that choosing the right path was anything but easy.

“The whole recruiting process was pretty crazy. It was not what I expected. It was a lot of time, and I think that was time that we needed. So it was taking a lot of time out of our training and coming back to your phone every day with missed calls and texts that you had to get back to, which was a little challenging,” he said, as per MMA Junkie.

Bassett also added that the decision to decommit from Iowa and later join Virginia Tech was a family decision, saying he is ‘in an amazing situation’ at the moment and ‘excited’ to work with their staff.
