Amber Glenn Faces Online Harassment as Olympic Debut Unfolds in Milan-Cortina
Glenn is making her Olympic debut and is part of Team USA, currently competing in the Milan-Cortina Games. The 26-year-old will be among the contenders for the gold medal in the women’s singles event.
During a press conference ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics, Glenn spoke about wanting to use her voice and platform to support and encourage people. The Texas native later wrote on her Instagram story that she has been receiving abuse and threats since making these comments. She added that she would be taking time away from social media during the 2026 Winter Olympics for her well-being.

“When I chose to utilize the one of the amazing things about the United States of America (freedom of speech) to convey how I feel as an athlete competing for Team USA in a troubling time for many Americans, I am now receiving a scary amount of hate/threats for simply using my voice when asked about how I feel,” Glenn wrote on her Instagram story.
“I did anticipate this but I am disappointed by it. I will be limiting my time on social media for my own wellbeing for now. But I will never stop using my voice for what I believe in. Xoxo Amber,” she added.
Glenn earned her spot in the Team USA roster by winning her third straight U.S. national figure skating championships crown. She became the first woman to achieve this feat since the legendary Michelle Kwan, and will now have her sights set on winning an Olympic medal.
Glenn is competing in the women’s team and women’s singles events at the 2026 Winter Olympics. She began her Olympic campaign in the women’s team event on Friday. She will be back in action in the women’s team free skate on Sunday.
