Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins remains one of quarterback C.J. Stroud’s go-to targets when looking downfield. Collins played in last Sunday’s 26-0 win over the Tennessee Titans at NRG Stadium in Houston.
While Collins was on the field, he has been dealing with a knee injury, and his status for the Texans’ upcoming game against the Baltimore Ravens is in doubt.
What’s The Latest on Nico Collins?
Collins had four receptions for 79 yards on six targets in the victory. His longest catch was a 37-yard pass-and-catch play from Stroud.
The Texans’ medical staff has been monitoring Collins closely. Head coach DeMeco Ryans hopes Collins will be available.
On Wednesday, though, the Texans’ injury report stated Collins was limited in practice because of his knee. He is listed as questionable.

If Collins is not able to go full speed, Stroud still has a range of other receiving options. Running back Woody Marks also had four receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown catch. Marks started along the line of scrimmage on the right side, then slipped away as Stroud floated a perfect pass into his arms for the score.
Besides Marks, Stroud could also look for Dalton Schultz, Jayden Higgins, Christian Kirk, Xavier Hutchinson, Nick Chubb, and Jaylin Noel downfield.
Losing Collins, however, would take away Stroud’s deep-ball threat. Collins has consistently created space downfield for Stroud to air it out. Stroud has not been as sharp this season, though the Texans are off to a 3-1 start.
This season, Collins has 18 catches for 260 yards and two touchdowns. He is averaging 14.4 yards per catch. Collins was a third-round pick by the Texans in the 2021 NFL Draft. In his career, he has 236 receptions for 3,490 yards and 20 touchdowns.
According to PFSN’s Impact Grades after the Titans game, Collins earned a C+ grade with a 77.9 WR+ score. He ranked 13th among the top 20 wide receivers receiving Impact Grades. The Texans need Collins at full speed against a Baltimore defense that can cause trouble. Stroud is hoping his WR1 can play.
Along with Collins being a limited participant in practice, Will Anderson Jr. (rest), CB Derek Stingley Jr. (oblique), and Foley Fatukasi (shoulder) sat out, while Jaylin Reed (knee), Harrison Bryant, and Denico Autry (knee) were also limited.
