The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the most consistent franchises in the NFL today and have consistently been at the forefront of the playoff race in recent years. However, all signs indicate that the franchise’s management is unhappy with Nick Sirianni, and the head coach may soon suffer a surprising change of course.
Eagles Coach Nick Sirianni Faces Mounting Pressure After Early Playoff Exits
Fox Sports reporter Ralph Vacchiano compiled a list ranking the 10 coaches most likely to be fired, placing Sirianni in second place, even though his positive record in recent seasons has left fans satisfied.
“If this seems ridiculous given Sirianni’s 59-26 record, three division titles, two trips to the Super Bowl and one championship in his four years … well, you don’t know Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie then. His standards are crazy high and there is deep disappointment inside his organization over the wasted opportunities in both 2023 and 2025,” said Vacchiano.
“Not all of that is directed at Sirianni, but sources said there has been internal frustration about his staffing choices and, at times, the way he manages what is sometimes a difficult locker room. But mostly it’s the late fade and playoff failures in those two seasons. The Eagles will probably win double-digit games and the NFC East again in 2026. But if they don’t advance in the playoffs, no one will be shocked if they make a change.”
The Eagles were eliminated from the playoffs early in the recently concluded season, but they are still a team that won the NFC East for the second consecutive season, finishing with an 11-6 record. Obviously, a long playoff run would have been ideal.

However, it should also be noted that the Eagles, who rank No. 16 in the PFSN Offense Impact metric with a C grade, became the first team to win the division in consecutive seasons since Philadelphia did so between 2001 and 2004, but this does not seem to have been taken into account by the franchise’s decision-makers.
If the Eagles had a disastrous season in 2026, the situation would be different, but we are talking about a head coach with a 59-26 record and a Super Bowl ring. If the Eagles finished 5-12 next season, that idea would make sense. But if the Eagles continue to rack up wins as they have been doing, it would be a strange move.
Despite all the strangeness caused by this revelation, we can say that Siriani will start next season under pressure to advance in the playoffs. We don’t know what management is demanding at this point, but everything indicates that reaching Super Bowl 61 will be the only scenario that will prevent a change in command.
