Bam Adebayo Clears Up Panthers Loyalty After Golden Knights Appearance
Adebayo wasted little time shutting down speculation after fans spotted him attending the Golden Knights’ comeback win over the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday night. The Miami Heat star was seated at T-Mobile Arena alongside his girlfriend, A’ja Wilson, while Vegas erased a 3-0 first-period hole to beat Colorado 5-3 and move within one win of the Stanley Cup Final.
The appearance immediately caught the attention of Panthers fans because Adebayo has openly supported the Panthers during previous playoff runs. After photos and videos circulated online showing him in Golden Knights gear, Florida’s social media team jokingly posted, “Bam… wyd,” hinting that the Heat star had switched sides.
Adebayo quickly responded on X to make his position crystal clear.
In a video message, he explained, “So we just went to a Knights game. I just want everybody to know it’s still [Florida Panthers]. I just couldn’t wear it in there because I was with somebody, but y’all know what it is.”

He followed that with a direct message toward the Panthers, posting, “@FlaPanthers Don’t ever disrespect my loyalty.”
The explanation centered around Wilson, whose ties to Las Vegas made the Golden Knights’ gear more of a coordinated appearance than a hockey allegiance shift. Wilson currently plays for the Las Vegas Aces and has become one of the faces of sports in the city. The outing turned into a high-profile playoff date night that blended NBA, WNBA, and NHL attention all in one arena.
All of this happened on a night where Vegas delivered one of its biggest wins of the postseason. After early goals from Gabriel Landeskog, Nazem Kadri, and Jack Drury gave Colorado complete control, the Golden Knights flipped the script on its head after captain Mark Stone scored on the power play in his return from injury.
William Karlsson and Keegan Kolesar helped erase the deficit before Tomas Hertl buried the game-winning goal midway through the third period. Hertl finished with one goal and one assist, while goalie Carter Hart stopped 32 shots during the comeback victory.
While the hockey world focused on Vegas taking a commanding 3-0 series lead, Adebayo made sure one thing stayed perfectly clear. No matter what jersey he wore in Las Vegas, his support for the Panthers has not changed.
