The Hughes family has been bang in the middle of the celebrations in the aftermath of the USA Men’s Hockey team bringing home the gold medal.
Alongside his brother Jack Hughes, who scored the golden goal in the final against the Canadians, Quinn Hughes has been partying his heart out with the rest of his Team USA teammates as footage emerged of the team popping champagne and smoking cigars in a nightclub in Miami.
But with the NHL season set to resume today, the Minnesota Wild star will have to lock in once again with playoff seeding and bragging rights at stake.
Minnesota Wild Owner Flies In Quinn Hughes and Company
On Wednesday, Feb. 25, The Athletic’s Michael Russo reported that billionaire franchise owner Craig Leipold took it upon himself to make sure that his star Team USA trio would make it back in time to catch the Minnesota Wild charter to Denver, Colorado.
Leipold sent his private jet, a Dassault Falcon 7x, to ferry Quinn Hughes, Matt Boldy, and Brock Faber to Minnesota. From there, the trio will join the rest of their teammates and fly to Denver ahead of their showdown against the mighty Colorado Avalanche.

Wild fans will hope Hughes, Faber, and Boldy will be hydrated and rid of any hangovers ahead of a crucial showdown in Denver. The American champions reportedly ran up a $150,000 bill at the nightclub in Miami, complete with champagne, tequila, and vodka.
However, per the Daily Mail, former NFL punter Pat McAfee was gracious enough to pick up that tab. The Team USA gold medalists were also spotted belting out The Star-Spangled Banner before resuming the celebrations.
The Wild coaching staff will hope that a taste of winning the gold on the grandest stage of them all will serve the team well as they look to mount a challenge for the Stanley Cup. As things stand, Minnesota is right atop the pyramid of contenders, alongside their Thursday night rivals, the Avs.
Minnesota has just one more practice scheduled after Wednesday before boarding the flight to Denver, as we wait to hear word on Hughes, Boldy, and Faber’s participation.
The Avs, Dallas Stars, and Vegas Golden Knights are essentially locked in for the playoffs alongside the Wild, but with seeding up for grabs, a lot will rest on how they tackle the Avs and the coming slate of games.
