Brady Tkachuk Gets Brutally Honest on Team USA’s Form After 6-3 Win Over Denmark

Team USA’s Men’s Hockey team is undefeated after two games at the Olympic stage in Italy, but the latest 6-3 win over Denmark leaves some diehard fans feeling uneasy. Is this the most Team USA can offer?

With several questions around the United States’ mettle, Brady Tkachuk has weighed in on the team’s future at the Olympics.

Brady Tkachuk Opens up About What Lies Ahead for Team USA

Team USA did not demolish Team Denmark at the Milano Santagiulia IHO Arena, but merely salvaged a lead and held on to it to win the game. The win was not ferocious, but it was a win nonetheless. But initially in the game, Denmark was clearly at an advantageous position. When the first period ended, the United States’ thoroughly lacklustre performance became apparent, and Denmark led the game 2-1.

Team USA is armed with some of the best forwards and defensemen of the NHL, so when Denmark overpowered Auston Matthews and company in the first period, some eyebrows were bound to be raised. The fact that Frederik Andersen did not even play for Denmark compounds the concern.

As the second period commenced, it became clear that something had to be done to pull the United States out of the slump. As disappointment hung in the air, Brady Tkachuk rose to the occasion to breathe new life into their challenge. Quinn Hughes and Jack Eichel assisted Brady Tkachuk to set the stage for Team USA’s resurgence against Denmark.

Impressive as the comeback was, fans are pining for a more consistent performance that sees the team coming together to check the opponent at the get-go. Luckily, Tkachuk has ensured that the team will channel its fiercest form when the time comes.

“That’s what’s good about our group. We’re just scratching at it right now, and it’s going to work out that we’re going to peak at the right time,” the winger stated, as per The Athletic.

The game against Denmark teased out the Captain from Tkachuk. The 26-year-old plays an instrumental role in getting the team to step up its game and motivates it to give its best.

HC Mike Sullivan recognizes Tkachuk’s massive leadership potential. “His energy is contagious. He’s so vocal on the bench, in between periods. He’s a positive guy. He drags everybody into the fight, literally and figuratively. And that’s what we love about him. He’s an elite player.”
