Arizona Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love caught some flak online for not knowing enough about past and present NFL players, including Calvin Johnson and Jared Goff. Generational gaps often mean young players don’t know older football legends well. However, the NFL world on social media believed Love had no excuse for not knowing certain players he was shown during his appearance on the “St. Brown Podcast.”
Jeremiyah Love Catches Online Criticism for ‘Disrespect’ Toward NFL Icons
As rookies enter the NFL, show hosts like to test their knowledge of the league with fun games. Love, however, didn’t see much love online for how he fared when he was asked to identify some of the league’s biggest names by Amon-Ra St. Brown and Equanimeous St. Brown.
He failed to identify current Detroit Lions quarterback Goff, Lions legend Johnson, Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey, and Cleveland Browns icon Peyton Hillis.
Hilarious: #Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love played a game on @StBrownPodcast where he had to identify NFL players…
He couldn’t get Jared Goff to start.
At the end, he admits he actually has no idea who Jared Goff is.

The NFL world didn’t take kindly to Love’s lack of knowledge.
“Bro a generation gap isn’t an excuse,” Denver sports analyst Swipa posted. “I could tell you what Kyle Boller looked like in the 2000s if you showed me a picture of him. This is crazy. Not knowing who Jared Goff is, is CRAZY.”
“I refuse to believe that players don’t know who other players are, especially at this level of play,” one user wrote. “It’s gotta be some disrespect gimmick.”
“Dude…it is insane how many of these dudes Love doesn’t know… Like…woah,” sports analyst Daniel Collins posted.
The fact that Love didn’t recognize Goff caught many off guard, given that the quarterback is an active star who leads one of the most electric offenses in the NFL right now. They booked an 80.5 PFSN Offense Impact score in 2025, ranking eighth in the league.

Luckily, Love will get a chance to meet him this season.
“Detroit plays at Arizona, Oct. 11,” writer Jason Krump wrote. “Jeremiyah Love will have a chance to meet Jared Goff in person.”
“Unreal and these are contemporary that are playing right now!” NFL scout Connie Carberg wrote. “He not only didn’t recognize most, [but] he didn’t hear of them — unbelievable! I think each team should teach their history to the rookies when they report – history important!”
“Did we dodge a bullet?” one Tennessee Titans fan asked, wondering whether the Titans, who were projected to draft Love, were saved by the Cardinals’ decision to select the running back with the third overall pick.
The Cardinals’ star rookie would probably like to move on from this blunder and focus on putting up a strong campaign this year.
